Things that i'm already aware of is that the logo needs changing, and i'm not too happy with the navigation bar font.

Does it include the color ? Because grey on red is hard to read :-\ (same for the footer)
Same thing for the logo, it looks great, but the colors do not match.

Facebook and twitter are white, make the nav and footer text white as well?

For the character minimum it might be cool to have a number to the right of the input, or in a box of its own to the right what counts up with each character and when it reaches the minimum it turns green instead of red or grey, etc?

I made it so that you can change the the layout via the settings, edit the mysql info (connection info and table names).

Not sure about everyone else, I'd just rather it used my username to greet me etc. As you said all it is used as is a unique identifier? I'd rather it had 'Snakess liked *' rather than my name.

Isn't that the reason you included an alias on the Facebook login, as people didn't like it using the persons name?

I actually find that using something like Sinatra (Ruby web framework) for simple web development, and Padrino (Sinatra based framework with additional modules, such as a mailer and very useful generator) for heavier sites VERY useful. The fact that I can just do a 'create' command and have the base ready to go, only to chug away at what needs to be done is amazing. Starting from scratch can give you great power, but if tools exists that already provide exactly what you need, or a base of what you need, I see no reason not to use them.

G+ as a whole is 100x better but sadly nobody seems know this, and thus nobody uses it. I have a fair few friends on Facebook, probably about 80% of them are actually people that I want to stay in touch with and know what they're up to (fuck knows why). If I switched to G+ I'd be out of touch with almost all of my nearest and dearest, as well as acquaintances that I like to keep up with.

It's a damn shame.

Full name shouldn't be required out of privacy. Or unless you are going to start merchandise later.

And that minimum 5 char inside text field as placeholder looks bad. Better use inline notification and visual cues.

I dislike not having a home button, I also dislike not being able to click the big picture but rather having to click the button. Also your home thing is borked.
