How are you getting on with this? Happy to compensate you for this if you can get it to a state I can use, by the way. Same offer applies to everyone, but do give me a quote first.
I'm sorry. I worked on the layout the day I posted it. Since then I haven't been able to work on it :/ I do have some time later today though.
How do you guys think this looks so far?
facebook. make a layout more original. [editline]30th December 2012[/editline] Wait, is this facebook?
That was the idea, I'm trying to make it look similar to facebook.
That was the idea, I'm trying to make it look similar to facebook.
Why?
Exactly, just for fun and practice.
Exactly, just for fun and practice.
Oh, so basically Facestrap ? You know because it's Facebook with Boot... nvm.
Facestrap, exactly.
[img_thumb]http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/1117/tempqh.png[/img_thumb] First content I've ever posted here. The bits with writing slide out from underneath the menu bar. Image is a place holder and text isn't like that anymore... It made me sound desperate.

You probably want to try something lighter. Then use a "almost white" colored icon when hovered - Don't have a HUGE shadow for something like that. also lighten up the shadow up a bit. - Don't have text right under shadows. You should add more content. right now it looks really empty, maybe you can put some things on the right side of the screen. or you can space out the content little more to middle so it doesn't look at empty. I'm not sure, but i think you need a smaller font-size for the headers.

I was thinking it looked a bit empty on the right, but I had no idea what to put there. Anybody got any ideas?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/I0Iii.png[/t] I'm going to bodge together the UI & back end for the booking process tommorow. I've restyled the actual application, but I will have an alternate (light) theme available and the orange highlight can be swapped for any other color the user likes.
That's pretty beautiful.
We launched Amuzor.
Bit late to the party but congrats on launching! The site looks & feels absolutely fantastic. My only criticism would be the tags are hard to locate/browse through, especially when not logged in.
[t]http://s.tdoyle.me/sparkweb-1.png[/t] Progress!
Would anyone like to use my lua webserver when I publicize the repo in the future? I'd like more people to use it to help me improve it and make cool stuff. I'm probably going to put my site on a VPS soon and it uses it, (yet uploads are STILL not supported, ew multipart). I'm currently redesigning my site(which uses it) so I'll probably have a screenie up later(it's pretty much a fancy about me page), and I'll release the source for the incomplete blog I made to demo the webserver. [sub][sub]I hope this isn't too off-topic, but I really hope to get my page up soon[/sub][/sub]
[t]http://s.tdoyle.me/sparkweb-1.png[/t] Progress!
It's a good start but a few things bother me. I think it's both the logo and the salmon pinkish colour you're using they don't feel quite right. I'm also not keen on heavy fonts then being italic also.
Yeah I agree with you, It's kind of just something I threw together in an hour or so. Going to be making a proper logo and changing around some of the color stuff soon
How to detect when a website is storing your password in unescaped plaintext in their db:
I hate such sites, not allowing you to use any character in a password.
well fuck i was going to use ¿ in my password
By the way, TerabyteS and Jelly, congrats for being on the front page of HN !
Also saw this on HN today, which was really cool: https://github.com/ircmaxell/PHPPHP
This is actually really cool. Compilers and languages and VMs are fun stuff.
How to detect when a website is storing your password in unescaped plaintext in their db:
I might get rated dumb for this, but how does that proove that they are storing passwords in plaintext?
I might get rated dumb for this, but how does that proove that they are storing passwords in plaintext?
Well it doesn't prove anything, but generally the only reason you would care about the special character content of a string would be if you were storing it somewhere and didn't know how to escape it.
I wanted it to somewhat retain the "garrysmod feel" as the icons on the server are also those.
Wants a Garry's Mod feel, has Minecraft background. :v:
Lua webserver? Sounds interesting. I'll def take a look when you've put it up.
Very much WIP but I've written a basic multi-threaded Lua server for my Lua webapp framework: https://github.com/Fizzadar/lua-wa/blob/master/server.lua
What's the advantage of having a web server written in lua or is this just an exercise?
