Sublime Text 3 Beta I will leave this here.

The first beta of Sublime Text 3 is now available to download for registered users. Some feature highlights are below, followed by our new pricing and upgrade policies, and system compatibility for Sublime Text 3.
Oh?
Pricing. The price for a Sublime Text license key has increased by $11, from $59 to $70
Oh.
if they want people to buy it they need to lower the price
I'd buy it anyway
http://ellinee.com blop
It's real nice, although I would suggest changing the navigation to a series of -padded- list elements. At the moment, the drop down menus are only appearing when you hover over the text section, generally it's much nicer to have the drop down menus appearing when hovered in the area around the text as well. Also, give the nav items themselves better hover states so the user receives more feedback. [editline]29th January 2013[/editline]
if they want people to buy it they need to lower the price
I disagree, I recently bought Sublime Text at the $70 dollar price, simply because it's a fantastic product and so far has been the perfect tool for me. Blows anything else out of the water at this point.
53 people on the site right now, that's right around where that number is whenever I check during the day. We'll spike even higher than that if something blows up on pinterest. On of our most popular posts has over 17k repins. It's fun working on stuff that gets this much visibility :)
It's real nice, although I would suggest changing the navigation to a series of -padded- list elements.
I'd buy it anyway
I would be much more willing to buy it if it were $20, and I know my school would pay for each computer if it weren't $55/license
$70 is absolutely nothing for a tool you use every day. Especially one that is as good as sublime is.
I would be much more willing to buy it if it were $20, and I know my school would pay for each computer if it weren't $55/license
I bought it for $1. They need to secure the checkout. [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] Is the guy below Jon Skinner ? Looks rad.
I bought it for $1. They need to secure the checkout.
Holy shit it actually worked! [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] Where's the "that was easy" button when you need it... [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] Same goes for Xenforo (A very expensive but awesome forum software) [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] I'm beginning to get the feeling that paypal is just a broken system...
How scummy, just as bad as pirating it.
And I'm sure they'd probably notice a PayPal order of only $1
How scummy, just as bad as pirating it.
I'm not going to use the key. I already have copy of Sublime Text that I paid for (full price). I'm going to send them an E-Mail describing the exploit so that they can fix it.
Holy shit it actually worked!
Did you get your key?
Did you get your key?
No yet. They told me to wait up to a day. I already have a key (bought for full price) though so it's not an issue.
I'm not going to use the key. I already have copy of Sublime Text that I paid for (full price). I'm going to send them an E-Mail describing the exploit so that they can fix it.
It's not even an exploit. This has been around for ages and it's expected behaviour.
How scummy, just as bad as pirating it.
Forgot to mention that I also already have a license key for XenForo. I pay for my stuff. So yea... [editline]30th January 2013[/editline]
It's not even an exploit. https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_pdn_howto_checkout_outside
I just got the E-Mail containing the key... Can I now send them a message saying that their checkout system is flawed?
I have been reading the past couple of pages regarding this exploit and I tried it with vBulletin...Yup...It happened. I could have purchased for $1, but I am not that type of guy. So, I screenshotted PayPal and sent vBulletin a email. I have done a good deed for today :) @ON Topic - I have been creating a front "splash" page for a new clan I just set up....It's nothing at the moment. Trying to learn bits of CSS while making this:
God damnit. I was hoping to get enough for sublime text one day. Now that day is even further away! :(
I don't think it will even be worth upgrading to ST3 unless there are some major changes. I only use a fraction of the features in ST2...
God damnit. I was hoping to get enough for sublime text one day. Now that day is even further away! :(
At least you have the Evaluation version to use. That's what I use. I really hoped that the price of ST3 would go down rather than up!
Nonono - I'll see if I can grab it when I get home ^^
Do the checkout bug/cheat/whatever (cancel loading the page when it tries to redirect you to paypal, edit the values and then click the paypal button). You won't receive an e-mail from sublime text. Go to the recover key page and fill in your e-mail. And then you get the key :3
I'm not going to use the key. I already have copy of Sublime Text that I paid for (full price). I'm going to send them an E-Mail describing the exploit so that they can fix it.
I sent a mail about the exploit before. Got no reply. Using free version of sublime text 2. I will pay if it's around $20. I don't use it for heavy editing. I forgot to cancel the recurring amount for Comodo Internet Security. It was $5 for one year and $49 for subsequent. Found out when $49 got deducted. But currently the price is $20. Sent a mail to comodo support and they promptly cancelled my previous license and refunded entire $49 even before I subscribed to the new plan @$20. Now that's pretty awesome of them. Right now on $20 subscription.
At least you have the Evaluation version to use. That's what I use. I really hoped that the price of ST3 would go down rather than up!
Pretty sure you can't use that commercially.
You could even buy 200 licenses for as low as $0.01 (although they'd probably notice it)
Optimized the piece of the website that decides what product to show you next on http://spoonfedstyle.com/ a lot last night. Also made it so that users see more popular products first when they don't have any recommendations yet. [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] I would be super appreciative of anyone who can take a second to share the website on facebook :)
