Its a very pretty site, its a shame Chrome completely mauls the font rendering on Windows.
Thanks! Design overhaul is actually on my ever-growing todo list (I haven't really invested much time in that side of things yet other than a little bit on the home page) and better fonts will definitely come with that. [editline]30th January 2013[/editline]
Done! :) - Looking good btw.
Thanks :)
Optimized the piece of the website that decides what product to show you next on http://spoonfedstyle.com/ a lot last night. Also made it so that users see more popular products first when they don't have any recommendations yet. [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] I would be super appreciative of anyone who can take a second to share the website on facebook :)
Did you ever check the font rendering differences in Chrome and Firefox? The choppyness on Chrome annoys me. http://imgur.com/a/zItrK
Read the last few posts lol. It's impossible to prevent the font aliasing on windows chrome, so I just have to be a lot more picky about fonts when I do a real design pass over the site. Also another funny thing about chrome on windows. It doesn't load google webfonts some times on some computers and I'm using them exactly how google webfonts tells you to. Funny that that is only broken in their own browser...
-webkit-font-smoothing: subpixel-antialiased; doesn't even make a difference, I just gave it a go.
All that does is make the fonts look extremely thin on OS X (which looks bad)
Anyone have a good idea for a list of anime series? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/52732348/anime/preview/index.html# 1: I haven't embedded the font used for the M button yet 2: CSS column-break-inside doesn't work for other browsers than webkit browsers atm [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] 3: The yellow bottom line is the rating
Woah, I just realized this thread is now slightly more than a year old. There's a lot of history in here!
Woah, I just realized this thread is now slightly more than a year old. There's a lot of history in here!
speaking of history, I just remembered I still have some of my websites on imgur on my account. I was just looking at it and how terrible I was at web dev and I'd say I've improved a lot. http://imgur.com/a/8HO2H

http://imgur.com/a/vAQoI#0 Out of those in the album I recommend the following(These are probably already included, just giving my personal opinion): Samurai Champloo(9/10) Great Teacher Onizuka(10/10) Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro(10/10) Spirited Away(9/10) Black Lagoon(10/10) Metropolis(9/10) Paranoia Agent(10/10) Paprika(10/10) These are just the once that I can come up with now.
I was talking about styling the <li> elements, but thanks anyways :) I'll bring your list to the guy I'm making the site for

Anyone got any experience with Laravel? How does it compare to lets say CodeIgniter?
Anyone got any experience with Laravel? How does it compare to lets say CodeIgniter?
Laravel: Layout Control, ORM, Error Stack Trace, Class Auto Loading, Database Cubrid, ODBC drivers, Authentication Library, External Modules. Afaik CI has none of the above.
You know they're a cunt when

What's this editor/IDE ?
What's this editor/IDE ?
Looks like the code view on GitHub.
Wrong thread too, what a cunt
Wrong thread too, what a cunt
This is the right thread now.
Every day I use redis I lean farther and farther towards it being a default inclusion in any new project I start.
Anyone using koding.com have issues with FTP mounts? I finally got it to mount my FTP but saving files causes random lines to be duplicated when saving (but it appears fine in the editor). I'm trying to get this working to show my teacher both the source to the site I'm working on and to show him koding
Every day I use redis I lean farther and farther towards it being a default inclusion in any new project I start.
I was debating including it in generic forums, what do you think?
Using it for storing things like read counts will be a lot faster. I am using it a lot for the analytics stuff I am building in to the spoonfedstyle.com admin dashboard and it's been awesome.
What headline looks the best to your guys? - Don't mind all the other stuff, it's just placeholders. or [editline]HERP[/editline] Made a subtle change to the last one. The first one looks best.
My friend is working on his portfolio and wants suggestions, fire away! http://www.delanefrear.com/
That is amazing. The only thing I noticed were that pictures liked to be at the left. Easier on the eye if they're centered.
My friend is working on his portfolio and wants suggestions, fire away! http://www.delanefrear.com/
Looks nice - except I fear it will be pretty annoying on a phone.
All i see is colorful lines moving horizontally :v: Im on my ipod
-snip-, realized I can't post this yet.
