Hey, by the way, <center> is not an HTML5 tag. It's actually deprecated and very much frowned upon.

I was one of the birth defects that originally learnt from w3schools, quite a long time ago.
Made www.ratemybike.co.uk last weekend. Damn snow making me productive.
Need to add some sort of session so that the randomness doesn't bring up the same thing over and over. Maybe make it a bit more appealing too.

seb what is this and why does it look so terrible
[t]http://i.imgur.com/hwG4L.png[/t]
Looks great, did you make this WYSIWYG editor by yourself?
Been working on that design for a bit of time now.
It's still WIP, but some parts are already "working" (aka the page has it's final look)
This site is the administration panel for my game cloud system, and it's the first design I do from scratch.

I really like this design, good job! Keep the good work up! Please PM me when you're done making your game :)

What's wrong with it? That's one of your many problems ifaux, you go around waving your cock around but never give actual advice.

Yeah.
What's wrong with it? That's one of your many problems ifaux, you go around waving your cock around but never give actual advice.
Yeah.
I don't like how the menu in the top is stuck to the bottom.

Wouldn't it look better when in the middle?
What's wrong with it? That's one of your many problems ifaux, you go around waving your cock around but never give actual advice.
Yeah.
it's generic, bland, bad colors, only specific advice i could give you is that the title... box looks weird

The only similarity is the colors.

that looks really great, though the "docs" title could use some work and the username button on the right should be a tad smaller.

What colors do you expect me to change? Red or orange wont really suit very well, nor will any other vibrant colors.
[editline]12th February 2012[/editline]
Also ugh, the main focus is the document and its contents. I don't really want to be adding bright pink that would distract someone while they were typing.

Honestly what you have looks great colors are fine, only concern is the large username on top right.
I've been working on trying to get a mainstream'd minecraft site together.
So it started out as just a hackjob thrown together turd.
Exhibit A:

Then I took time to make a mostly dynamic site, login/forum integration and sexyness.

But that turned out to be rough on the eyes, but almost to the mark.
Then I did this to it.

www.SethCraft.com
And there it is as of now.
Come a ways. :)
The original was more creative in my opinion

Been working on a web page for a Justin.TV Livestream (Blanked out the name because I want it to be private for now). The status bar (The blue bar) is powered by jQuery/PHP and automatically refreshes (without refreshing the page) and changes according to the status set on the JustinTV page (Uses the JustinTV API). Pretty awesome.
Okay, what is the best way to align text to the centre of an image, whenever I try I always end up with something like this;

But this is the result I want. Anyone know what CSS tactic I can use to make it happen?

add a new css class and add the property "display: inline" to it, and apply that class to the icons
Almost every tutorial I've red learned me how to upload filed to a database. Now I've seen the cons of that, fuck tutorials.
Now I have to change my site to save to and load from folders...
[editline]13th February 2012[/editline]
Btw, I want to do something with Dropbox on my site. Anybody got any good ideas? (It's for www.novaember.com)
Spontaneous design! Would make this into a Wordpress theme, but effort.

i've wanted to know, what is the specific difference between "display:inline;" and "display:inline-block;"?
i know there is one, and i've used it on many different occasions, i'm just not sure what the specific diferrence is now

one displays it as an inline element, the other displays it as an inline element but with some block element characteristics

It's nice but try looking at it in IE 8.
Learning asp.net for a potential job. Have never used it before. For my jump into project I decided to go with an ajax dnsbl lookup.
[t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29760911/ZScreen/2012-02/2n1n3nQnnninonNnvnsnenhnIn.png[/t]
The Javascript is a bit hacky.
function removeChildren(node)
{
while (node.children.length > 0)
node.removeChild(node.children[0]);
}
function getResults()
{
var results = $("#results");
var list = $("#resultslist");
var ip = encodeURIComponent($("#IpAddress")[0].value);
removeChildren(list[0]);
results.show();
for (var i = 0; i < dnsbls.length; i++)
{
var edns = encodeURIComponent(dnsbls[i]);
$.post("/Blacklist/CheckIp", "IpAddress=" + ip + "&DnsBL=" + edns, function (responseText, responseStatus) {
if (responseStatus == "success") {
list.append("<tr><td><img src=\"Content/themes/base/images/" + responseText["result"] + ".png\"/> " + responseText["dnsbl"] + "</td></tr>");
}
}, "json");
}
return false;
}
Don't know how I am supposed to pass stuff to the response function so I just return the dnsbl host in the response. Also what should I do for invoking getResults? Right now I am canceling a form submit although its probably not the best thing to do because if there is a javascript error it submits the <form> itself.

have the form point somewhere that does something sensible
Out with the old:

I have gone off textures so got rid of the textures from this design. It is now cleaner, simpler and almost image free. (as in whole design is image free)
It should be noted that the stitching in the original is CSS3 and so is the vertical and horizontal gradients so the only image was the texture tile (which was pretty small) so the change wasn't for download speeds.
