I've been periodically updating a stylesheet for personal use which overrides various parts of facepunch, mostly just to fix parts of facepunch that garry is too busy (or doesn't care) to do himself. I finally decided to release it, and was wondering if any of you would help look it over. I'm mostly looking for sections I could improve upon, or additional sections I could add. There are still a few areas i'm looking at modifying, but it's mostly just padding/margin issues here and there.
The stylesheet: http://userstyles.org/styles/65192/facepunch-fixer
Note that I had to use "!important" for a ton of attributes, as garry (or compwhizzi) decided to update styles by just making an additional duplicate style and then using "important" on the attribute to override every instance of it. It hurts to look at it.
I typically use chrome, but i've tested it out in firefox, and besides one small error with the tabs in the profile it should look exactly the same.

Amazing how you stole a design and managed to make it hideous.

Fuck you even just reversed the colours and took out the logo of the original site.
Even the footer? Come on TJ, get your shit together.

Making a website for a fictional to do-style app as a school project. This is the front page. Is there anything I should change?

That looks great, however I think you could increase the line height on the three text boxes just a tiny bit, it looks a bit squashed. Also the navigation (the home and about links) look a bit odd but I'm not sure why.

Thanks.
I'll try changing the line-height on the paragraphs. Also, I think the reason that the menu links look weird is because they aren't centered in their boxes. It will fix itself when i get to coding the page.
I agree that the navigation needs work. Possibly try getting rid of the white vertical bars and see how that looks?

Yeah, that was much better. Thanks for the input :)

I guess it's just a placeholder, but u gonna have custom video controller? That had been awesome :D
Which leads me to this question: Can you change the default html5 video controller?

I haven't decided on that yet. Looks like you can: http://www.kratedesign.com/blog/2010/07/01/html5-video-part-3-building-a-custom-controller/

Do it, Do it, Do it! :D
..and follow android design guidelines. The better the site get the more the consumers trust you and share the app(in your case). :)
btw, thanks for the link!
A GSP server control panel that
1. Won't look disgusting *cough*TCadmin 2*cough*
2. Will work on both windows and linux without having to run mono on the linux servers to operate *cough*tcadmin 2*cough*
3. Won't be dropped with no billing panel modules *cough*swiftpanel*cough*
4. Hopefully include billing built in if wanted.
5. Affordable (Not $200.. :V)

coldfusion obviously

As for the other guy. I am using absolute, not relative.
[editline]2nd May 2012[/editline]
I don't understand though. Its not relative, it's got a 1% margin but that seems to only work on my resolution.
Why don't you make each line a list item and add the triangles infront of each line and use css to hide the dots?

A lot of the site is inconsistent, I'll probably be going through and revising a bunch of it once I'm not so overloaded with client work. Thanks for reminding me!

qfi.im post-mortem

Lesson learned
Being the good guy is not a good business model. People will not give you money unless you force them to, if you ask them to donate they'll repeatedly click the ads instead and get you banned from AdSense (that really happened), and they'll complain about the service not working for lack of funds and refuse to donate even if asked nicely.
I've also learned that people can't read because I've repeatedly stated that qfi.im works with only with a few certain services, in which mediafire not included (it also has no wait times either so there'd be no point in including it), yet people will skip that entirely and complain.
Brief history of qfi.im
qfi.im wasn't originally my idea. A Facepunch user going by the name of Mutank (or something similar) made a small site called SparkGen and I offered myself to make a better-looking interface for it. I started work on what was then called SparkGen, designed and made it functional all on my own, and then, after not hearing from the other guy for a week I decided to take it on on my own, and changed its name to QuickFire (you can probably see where it's going now). That was sometime during April 2011. I added ads to the site and launched it as a 100% free, donation (and ads) funded site. After a while I got banned out of AdSense because of people repeatedly clicking my ads instead of donating.
For a little longer than a year, qfi.im continued to live off of sparse donations and low cost hosting. Today marks the day when that model has finally collapsed. qfi.im was my personal experiment to see how long such a thing would last and to see if I would be able to build a service able to aliment itself for a long period of time. I think I can say it was a little success.

var_dump(false == "what");
var_dump(0 == "what");

Output:

And no, this isn't about the === operator, it's about why 0 is false, and 0 is "what" but false is not what, even though false is 0 and 0 is false.
"what" when changed to a number is 0 so 0 == 0

Over the years, collectively, there have been a handful of successful projects that have come out of Facepunch's community. I can't think of a single one that wasn't made by a pretty amazing person in any regard. This is one of those projects in my opinion.
It had a good run, and I think you did an excellent job.
:(
You forgot one business model.....freemium.
1 free premium link per day. You can pay for unlimited for $5/month or something.

That would have been against the original plan I had in mind for it which was to avoid impeding access to the user for any reason and keeping the service 100% free, making money only in ways that would not change how the service itself behaved. In the long run it proved to be a model that does not work (with the kind of audience the site was targeted towards, at least), but it has served me a great lesson about running and managing a small-scale size with a few users. Now that this one is out of the way, I could try taking the next step and trying to build something even bigger and better.

Well, it was a nice website. I never really got to use it as it never worked for me - the accounts always ran out by the time I got to use them and other sites just didn't work at all. It was sexy though.
I'm working on some icons for a blog.
