ha, no. That name is terrible.
Sounds like a search engine for Eskimos.
A table.
A table.
at first glance it looked like a piece of lined paper and imo that'd look better (if all of the seperating horizontal lines apart from the top red one were cyan)
Yeah, the colours are specific to the course type though. Functionality over Design for the admin panel anyway.
if the line is specific to course type i would probably just tint the background of each table row, because just underlining doesn't make me associate the color with the data
at first glance it looked like a piece of lined paper and imo that'd look better (if all of the seperating horizontal lines apart from the top red one were cyan)
I think having the different coloured lines makes it easier for your eyes to track horizontally. In any case, nice job with the design, jaybuz!
I think having the different coloured lines makes it easier for your eyes to track horizontally. In any case, nice job with the design, jaybuz!
you could keep the solid border on the bottom and lightly tint the background of the row, that way the visual association with the color is obvious at a glance but you keep the strict, visible separation of rows via the darker border
if the line is specific to course type i would probably just tint the background of each table row, because just underlining doesn't make me associate the color with the data
It is tinted. Get a new monitor. :v:
It is tinted. Get a new monitor. :v:
No it's not.
It is tinted. Get a new monitor. :v:
neither of my monitors display a background tint, i had to turn the image brightness down by a shitload just to make the tints visible can anyone else chip in and say whether or not my monitor has freakishly high brightness or something?
It is tinted. Get a new monitor. :v:
I think you mean colour-correct your monitor. Though, even with a pretty colour-accurate monitor, it is very light. Might wanna turn the colours up a little bit.
I'm using an 2006 iMac at the moment. 1680 x 1050
I couldn't see it either. It's too bright.
was clearly visible on both my monitors
you'd think web designers would have monitors with decent colour reproduction, unlike most in this thread it appears
Do people prefer the grey or the blue? [thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3787621/site/grey.jpg[/thumb][thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3787621/site/blue.jpg[/thumb] The site will replace the monstrosity at http://cloudcube.com.au/
you'd think web designers would have monitors with decent colour reproduction, unlike most in this thread it appears
most in this thread are not professional web designers
most in this thread are not professional web designers
they should still be able to tell grey from blue (or red, purple and green in jaybuz' case) :v:
most in this thread are not professional web designers
Sure, but you don't have to be a professional web designer to realise the importance of calibrating your monitor.
Pretty sure he changed the image. Yesterday I couldn't see the tint and today I can see it quite clearly.

http://www.scribd.com/jobs/botrace_bot/414 Failure. This is pretty awesome though.
buttesns
Sexy!
you'd think web designers would have monitors with decent colour reproduction, unlike most in this thread it appears
But then I guess you also have to consider that typical end users have bog standard monitors so why not design to suit them?
My new site. It's certainly no master piece and it's the most PHP I've ever wrote. I'm still proud of it :)
