Should I make the error text red, too?
^
Those nav buttons are really annoying.
^^
The red-orange-green colors look way too bright on your extremely dark-themed webpage.

The whole design is generally pretty annoying.
Some details / ways to make it better would be appreciated.. I'm not a designer.

I hate the shadow on the logo and gradients are a bit dated now in my opinion anyway (unless used subtly). So I'd remove those effects for a start.
Someone already said the bright colours didn't match your design so pick some darker ones to more match the rest of your theme. Getting a darker colour is quite easy with a site such as http://0to255.com/.
Also for fonts try http://www.fontsquirrel.com/ or use Google Webfonts. A nicer font would help make the design look more attractive.

16px Microsoft fonts look horrible. Make them smaller.
Some progress on my site, pretty plain so far, Still don't know how I'm going to do the titlebar :v:
[t]http://imgkk.com/i/b17n.png[/t]
I've been working on this today, http://worldofvagax.com/classy/
Only thing i need extra is to make the text on the side fade out after a few seconds, i found a few tutorials but none are showing a simple fade-out.
Mind you that i only know HTML and slight CSS..
Get www.jquery.com and use $("#element").fadeOut() in a timeout.
Or put the text on the main page.
I'm sorry but I don't really like any of it. The banner feels too thick and the padding is inconsistent. I don't feel the background works with the rest of the design either. Also I'm not crazy about the orangey-red colour as there is too much of it.
If I was personally changing it I'd:
- Make the main container not have rounded corners.
- Make the main bar thinner.
- Make all the text smaller and possibly look at some other fonts.
- Not have full stops in the buttons (assuming they are buttons?)
- Make the padding more consistent.
- Change the background.
Sorry if I seem harsh but just wanted to try and be constructive.
Still working on this, but I think this addressed some of your major points.
edit: haha, so funny.

Now "double" your changes, then double them again.
Scrapped the old stylesheet.

Working on a digital points system that also allows you to link to your Garry's Mod and Minecraft accounts to our servers, the admin area also has powerful graph features to log how long administrators are spending on the server to find inactive administrators and reward active ones.
Looks nice, tho I think those silk icons should be a few pixels lower.
Yeah, I just left it at the default size because they look a bit weird below 15x15 and 15x15 does actually improve it. Is there some CSS I can use to align it properly, I'm in no way a CSS master.

Thanks :eng101:
Just stumbled across a website using one of my plugins.
Was reading this: http://gravityonmars.com/2012/03/28/svbtle-based-on-wordpress/
Went to the demo: http://wp-svbtle.bootstrapthem.es/
Went to: http://bootstrapthem.es/
And bingo - I recognise that rather crude logo. First time I have completely independently stumbled across someone using it.

Thank you.

I'm going to start making my templates uniform. I have CSS includes scattered across the heads and such. Not good.
Also, with Flask, @import in CSS doesn't work.
I'd imagine it does with nginx + FastCGI.

OK. done.

I'm going to build a simple unnamed multiplayer platformer game as an exercise to learn to use node.js and socket.io.
Right now I've got a simple framework going (based on express) which uses coffeescript for the scripts, less for the stylesheets and jade for the html.
Here's the game page with the canvas that will contain the game itself.

I'm going to tweak/completely change my logo at some point I think, that's pretty much just a placeholder. This is the theme that I'm going to go for on my portfolio, nice and simple, projects will be shown where there are currently placekittens and smaller thumbnails beneath and probably even a drop-down description of some sort below that.
I'm going to start the html/css tomorrow after I've worked out exactly how I want anything, can I get some criticism on the colours and whatnot? I'm not sure about the pale blue.
