I'm late to the party but Node v0.8.0 was released a few days ago! http://blog.nodejs.org/2012/06/25/node-v0-8-0/ Check out them benchmarks!
Going to embark on a journey called "create a helpdesk", but I need a name. Anyone here more creative than me?
[t]http://niggaupload.com/images/kRdgV.png[/t] Web Desktop/OS type-thing. [editline]a[/editline] I'm not quite happy with the spacing of the file icons. [editline]a[/editline] [t]http://niggaupload.com/images/AkOrf.png[/t] Window control colors are temporary.
Figured it was about time to get up an online portfolio. Designed and built the first page in a few hours: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/99604/Website/index.html I would love criticism on it because I will be asking for employers to take a look at it when I job pops up. I'd also like to know what you guys would recommend for a lightweight secure and customizable CMS in PHP so I can add new recent projects with relative ease.
I landed a contract after 2 days of internship :v:
Nice one, tera. Here's a regex I just spent 20 mins writing: (works in sublime text's finder)
\r?\n?\s*-[a-z]{0,7}-border-[a-z-]{0,14}radius:.+?;
It finds all vendor prefixed border-radius styles. I wanted to remove them from my CSS since they're not needed any more. [sp]I find regex strangely satisfying to write[/sp]
Nice one, tera. Here's a regex I just spent 20 mins writing: (works in sublime text's finder)
?-[a-z]{0,7}-border-[a-z-]{0,14}radius: ([0-9]{1,4}(|px|%|em|inherit))( [0-9]{0,4}(|px|%|em|inherit))?( [0-9]{0,4}(|px|%|em|inherit))?( [0-9]{0,4}(|px|%|em|inherit))?;
It finds all vendor prefixed border-radius styles. I wanted to remove them from my CSS since they're not needed any more. [sp]I find regex strangely satisfying to write[/sp]
Why do you need rules for what comes after the colon if you're just targeting '-xxx-border-radius:' rules?
Why do you need rules for what comes after the colon if you're just targeting '-xxx-border-radius:' rules?
I was unsure how to make it non-greedy. I found out that adding a question mark after a greedy quantifiers such as * or + will make it stop after the first match. Magic!

I hate it when websites force you to log in with Facebook, maybe I just want to read it without showing everyone in the world that I'm on it?
I hate it when websites force you to log in with Facebook, maybe I just want to read it without showing everyone in the world that I'm on it?
I. Couldn't. Agree. More.
Check it out: http://memeit.com/
Although the whole Facebook login thing is kind of annoying, some of these "meme"'s are pretty funny... Incoming box storm!
I wanted to test the HTML5 File API, so I decided to try reading Valve BSP files. [thumb]http://i47.tinypic.com/2eb5q4w.png[/thumb] It's great, and this example from microsoft was very helpful. The picture above is showing a parsed version of the map entity lump.
Bootstrap makes everything so easy. Sure it's bland but most non-techies don't notice it. It's nicer than a blank page if you're in a hurry to get stuff up. [T]http://i.imgur.com/r022m.png[/T] Also, Yeah...thats livestreaming from Spoutcraft.
Feels more unprofessional than anything IMO, and it's not like people without technical skill don't realize it's cookie-cutter work when they're seeing it constantly.
Bootstrap sites lack so much personality.
I've been working on this today, http://worldofvagax.com/classy/ Only thing i need extra is to make the text on the side fade out after a few seconds, i found a few tutorials but none are showing a simple fade-out. Mind you that i only know HTML and slight CSS..
I really like this site, it is actually amazing. Thank you, keep up the good work.
I actually left it in there so that I could use XSS :P. I would redirect people to stuff and post links to screw with them while they were on the page. It's more of just a fun little experiment than anything real, otherwise I'd def use an XSS condom.
Check it out: http://memeit.com/
the blurred background of the website hurts my tiny asian eyes.
I hate it when websites force you to log in with Facebook, maybe I just want to read it without showing everyone in the world that I'm on it?
Schhhh.. No one needs to know! You can do the same with all those crap paper apps (The Guardian for example, that REQUIRES you to add their shitty application if you can't be arsed searching the story up on google).
