Using the built in editor, easier and faster imo
Yeah that's what I'd have done, awesome!
That's pretty much the same method I've used for GUI text in all my Unity games. I think it's the best option until the new GUI
For my star wars thing, can I focus on the trench run and skip the dogfight + surface skim because Construct 2 free has a event limit and I have reached it with both the dogfight + trench run and I have yet to make a menu screen as well. Clearly it was a mistake on my part for wanting to remake a game which I thought would not make me go over the limit...
Uh, you have complete creative control...? Why are you asking anyone's permission?
been working on the graphics got a sweet little GUI system going on. also I added more graphics: not a lot but it was hard fucking work
hahaha i dont get it...
Cause the Call of Duty sequels just reuse all the stuff from the previous games.
Cause the Call of Duty sequels just reuse all the stuff from the previous games.
and not even the little things like misc props. They reuse entire buildings, scripted sequences, animations you name it!
Totally forgot about this competition and the fact that I entered, so I whipped up pong before I went to sleep last night. The code is absolutely revolting and I don't remember writing half of it, but I might as well post a screen. I have a feeling I won't be winning this one, 9 days left.
more tetris zombies I gotta thank my friends for letting me use them in the game, they're awesome. I added a "ghost" to see where the block is going to land since I find myself missing a lot of the time. the ghost will disappear after a certain wave though.
And now, everything CoD has that takes up 99% of the screen.
I guess I should probably say right now that I'm not going for a 100% CoD parody, but a Tetris parody with lots of flares and explosions and kill streaks. I won't add anything that would actually obstruct from gameplay, but things that add to the gameplay and the satisfaction of the game. I also have to defend CoD a bit because I actually do enjoy CoD, because it has that Dance Dance Revolution level of satisfaction feel to it, everything is bright and shiny, explosions are gorgeous, kills are amazingly satisfying, there's a lot of flare to everything. The HUD I don't really mind, and the gameplay can get repetitive, but there's just that level of satisfaction that you get from CoD games that I want to replicate.
Since I'm way too late to join this (and suck at game design anyway) I'll just throw a feature I've thought about here. YouTube showoff video AUTOGENERATOR.
I'm out.
Ive made the most advanced and secure web browser pong. Or play it live at www.mastchio.com/pong!
Well, this was a fun one, and I actually got something workable out of it (unlike the last competition, which we shall all never speak of again). I have no fancy title, nor do I have any sound or music for it, unfortunately, but regardless of that, I present to you all, the horribly named: Call Zelduty. And if you really need some music in the background, just search on youtube for your favorite zelda song with the word dubstep at the end.
Apparently the contest ends today, though I'm pretty sure I meant to write May 12th instead of 11th. Oh well. Finish up your entries and have them submitted by tonight at 12:00am GMT (that's 7:00pm EST)
Wait but it's may 10th where I live, do I have to send it in right now or do I still have tomorrow to do final tweaks and then send it off to you?
I'm uploading my entry now, but its going to take a while to upload both the windows and linux builds (no OSX build because Unity won't compile it). I'll post the links to the build when I wake up, but here's some pictures in the meantime:

[t]http://puu.sh/2Ri4k.png[/t]

[t]http://puu.sh/2RhxM.png[/t]

[t]http://puu.sh/2RhAn.png[/t]

[t]http://puu.sh/2RhBs.png[/t]

[t]http://puu.sh/2RhCm.jpg[/t]

[t]http://puu.sh/2RhUd.jpg[/t]

Unfortunately, its no where near as complete as I'd have liked it to be. I lost a week because of assignments, and I lost more time earlier this week because of another assignment. I couldn't get the music-based gamemode done, so if you select it it'll just play the regular game with randomized colours. There's also no sound effects on anything except the menu because it was impossible to find some fitting sound effects that I liked that were also free, there's a little bit of music, but I'd advise muting it in the options menu :v: The continue button is also really glitchy, so try not to rely on it. But it was fun working on this, and I might continue with it but idk yet. Let me know if you find any bugs, there's bound to be a lot of them.

As long as you didn't work on it later than 7PM GMT.
Okay thanks for the clarification. I've put a hard limit of 4 hours left for me to do anything. After that I am going to force myself to upload my entry. It's been fun!
It's been final's week so I'm going to have to submit an incomplete entry, but I'll probably keep working on my game.
Compiling right now and will upload to dropbox or wherever so people can play it. It's rough around the edges but it hopefully is challenging.

I didn't get to add the killstreaks, barrack repairs, and a-bombs that I wanted to add but it's whatever :( edit: fuck I forgot to remove a testing feature with the down arrow button, I just fixed it.
I'm going to make the voting thread tomorrow, so that everyone has a chance to submit their entries (Borsty for one is offline at the moment). You don't need to PM me the entries, just post 'em in the thread.
