College Degree: Whats' more important - Score on degree or actual practical skills?

The real question is.. how nerdy and anti-social can you make yourself look? That's how I got my job. I just talked the talk and showed them stuff I did in my own time.

I taught myself most of what I know and got hired.. .they haven't even seen or asked for my CV.
