So, about that DeepDreams...
Does anyone happen to have a compiled Windows executable lying around where I can just feed it images and a few parameters and it does magic?
Just thought I'd ask. :v:
Not exactly what you asked for, but there is this and this.
One day somebody is going to report that as a bug.
Maybe have a little transition animation where it starts out saying "Paused" but then turns into the random word?
I've "finished" my coroutine system, it'll allow me to write AI for my game and create a state machine without huge switch statements fucking everywhere.
You can find the code here: https://github.com/FalconKrunch/Coroutinerinos
There's a Project.cs file as a demo in CoroutineSystem/Demo.
If anyone has any suggestions on doing this a different, better way, let me know.

Learned a lot about the Enumerables, and it's been long since I've used C# in a more in-depth manner, so this was pretty cool to do.
Had some real trouble deciding what to do with his right arm :v:
Feel like I improved it now though:

Maybe you could record yourself making a lunge like that with a heavy object, and see where you naturally place your arm when you do that?
I wrote some code that loads menu data from a JSON file and used it to dynamically construct my pause menu. Still a work-in-progress, obviously, but I'm happy with what I've achieved so far.
It's in Java, written with LibGDX and the networking code is in KryoNet.
I'll have to find some legal shit but I'm probably going to throw up a license that allows you to make copies for personal use, but you have to obtain another license to sell derived copies. Plus I'll need to have whoever works on it sign an agreement regarding copyright, etc.
Java isn't my thing, sorry.
You'll probably want to write up a quick nda if you're worried. There's lots of templates floating around I think, but I can't really help you with the license since I only know of various open source ones.

Generate the game code with Rant too
Generate the game code with Rant too
What I'm planning on doing is just a step away from that.
What I'm planning on doing is just a step away from that.
Writing a complex text-expression-based scripting language that is translated at runtime to dictate virtually every element of your game?
And then feeding this expression-language output generated with Rant?
The thrilling game where around each corner there is a 50% chance to get a nullpointer exception or worse.

I had this idea for using Rant to procedurally generate AI graphs, resembling Markov chains. I thought of it while messing around with Unity's animation controller. That could open up a lot of interesting doors. After I work on the rest of the player controls and an inventory system, that is my next focus. Then a custom TTS system for the NPCs.
Granted, I'm not trying to do anything revolutionary. Nor am I aiming for realism. I just want this to be as funny as goddamn possible.

Looks pretty good that. I don't do games programming but looks like a good reference point to if I ever decide to dabble into it again. Thanks for sharing.

Holy shit why haven't I heard of this book before. I'm buying this.

I just imagine someone without any idea using this game-menu and i just cannot get over how genius it is.

The randomized options menu isn't there to stay, I just needed some placeholder elements :v:
The 10% chance of getting a random pause title, however, is.

I tell you it is only a matter of time before my neighbors call someone over my constant shadow boxing around the house.
Hey there guys!
I am looking for someone who's familiar with the Steam API and would be willing to make money by making a raflling site.
Design's covered, need the coding skillz. Please let me know!

we should never have any competition ever

let's discourage anyone from ever making anything ever
let's discourage anyone from ever making anything ever
I dont see how thats discouraging.
I mean if you said you were gonna make a search engine and someone pointed out google exists is that discouragement or common sense?
it wasn't the link to the already-existing product; it was the phrasing, 'back off'
it wasn't the link to the already-existing product; it was the phrasing, 'back off'
I think he never intended to make it sound serious. At least I didn't see any seriousness in it.
Back off, bub.
Because obviously you're the only person who ever thought of creating a raffle site.
God damn, get off your high horse.

Took a little break, but I'm working on this game again. Implemented a health bar which was easier done than I expected; it's always nice seeing your code work correctly on first compile.
of course, nothing happens when you reach zero, yet.
Holy shit why haven't I heard of this book before. I'm buying this.
I'm (almost) certain this came up when we were working on that game :v:

Add one randomised item to the end of the options, and make it actually do what it says.

Been working on adding support for my language, Jet, to Visual Studio. As you can see, there's still lots to do. I'm not a big fan of how visual studio has everything set up, but the extension debugger is nice.
The extension is made in C#. Which is very strange to work with after having used C++ almost exclusively for the past few years.
1. Are you paying?
2. That's illegal in a lot of places - every US state except Alabama, Hawaii, Kansas, South Carolina, and Utah - and is against Steam's terms of service.
So what Geel is doing is against Steam ToS?
