Ordered a huge, I needed a system for zenoss - might as well support these guys since I think they're great and I've been following them around for ages now.

Does anyone know if it is possible to host an ArmA 2 server on one of these VPS's?
well it runs on linux so of course
well it runs on linux so of course
I was thinking about the processing power and that kind of stuff.
I had a package with you guys for a few months at the end of last year\start of this year. I didn't end up using it much so I dropped it, but with this kind of sale maybe I'll sign up again. I had a pretty big gripe with the pings though, 300ms+ makes it pretty painful to do anything with ssh. I guess that's just australia for you
Have a test - ping 96.47.230.81
I'm getting 70ms from Canada, which seems a bit high for North America.

You don't even notice it after a while. [editline]9th October 2012[/editline] clarification: not with fanatical

[editline]9th October 2012[/editline] clarification: not with fanatical
I can imagine you wouldn't really notice the pings with most things but whenever you use ssh it'd still be a pain. Waiting .3 of a second for your characters to show up (especially if you've made a typo) is unlikely to get any easier
I'm getting 70ms from Canada, which seems a bit high for North America.
Could you run a traceroute to the IP?
Roughly any idea when the US servers will be available? and I figure it's probably a non-issue, but on your order page there's separate buttons for the german and the US datacentres. Can you switch between them later or if I reopen an account with the german site now am I stuck with them?
Could you run a traceroute to the IP?
Later tonight if I don't forget.

How long is the discount still going to last?
How long is the discount still going to last?
At least a week after we launch the US location (which should be in the next few days)
US server setup is complete, we'll be keeping it private (current customers only) until next Thursday when we'll be going public and at the final week of the sale :)
US server setup is complete, we'll be keeping it private (current customers only) until next Thursday when we'll be going public and at the final week of the sale :)
Awesome, looking forward to it.
It's possible to buy the smalles package at first and getting a bigger plan later, right? I wanted to test the waters before diving in.
It's possible to buy the smalles package at first and getting a bigger plan later, right? I wanted to test the waters before diving in.
you can upgrade the vps whenever you like in the panel

And if you find out you'd prefer being in the other location (Whether Germany or US) we'd be happy to move you (with a change in IP address) A little extra details: Germany test IP: 88.198.224.126 Germany test download: http://88.198.224.126/bigtest.tgz US test IP: 96.47.230.66 US test download: http://96.47.230.66/bigtest.tgz
It's possible to buy the smalles package at first and getting a bigger plan later, right? I wanted to test the waters before diving in.
Just note that upgrading prices will return to normal in two weeks.
Later tonight if I don't forget.
I never did that traceroute, but I'm pinging from work right now and getting 60ms which is decent for US. So I'll transfer my servers over this weekend.
Why are you ignoring my sales ticket?
Why are you ignoring my sales ticket?
We're not! We've been very busy with migrations from Germany to the US node; I've just replied to your ticket :)
