Is there still any value in using a HTML based UI now that the uGUI is available?
I know HTML UI is faster to iterate and you can show off your UI without the game, but whats the general concensus?
Also, Is CoherentUI the only real option for HTML UI? Its so expensive, im surprised no one else has released anything

those aren't really major things but i see no point in it when you have a gui system as good as unity does

garry also switched rust ui from html to unity's system
i think they had crashes on OS X and whatnot with the html system

Yea, I think i need to get to grasps with how to use it, maybe try and make a clone of besiege's UI
Making UI is already fun and easy, no need for HTML bullshit

Which for some reason I didn't think would work. So I was basically having a meltdown last night over nothing :downs:

Surprisingly much people/games who i've seen go down the route of rendering transparent webkit frames over their games have at some point regretted it enough to swap to a different UI system.

I wonder what can they do though. Epic has a ton of cash from licensees. Unity not so much so going free will hurt them a lot.

I know Unity 5 was supposed to introduce a new pricing scheme but yeah, they're going to have a hard time justifying to end users why Unity costs so much when UE4 is free.
I know UE4 can do it because Epic makes bank on AAA studio licenses, but still. It looks [I]really[/I] bad for Unity to charge as much as they do. I'm really curious what they plan to announce tomorrow.
I'm not planning on switching over to UE4 anytime soon, but this is amazing news.
The monolith that is UE4 suddenly crashed into Unity's playground. Now the Unity team has to try 50 times as much to make themselves feel significant next to it.

Pretty sure they're just announcing the release of Unity 5. I'll be very surprised if they announce some new pricing options.

If you need the scripting reference or manual. Go to Help > Manual/Scripting Reference for the local version on your PC.

Well I just got shafted by Unity for paying for the Pro version a few months ago. I've basically paid several hundred dollars (student discount) just to remove a splash screen on one platform. Would have been nice if they at least rolled the Android and iOS Pro add-ons into the main Pro license.
I swear for god, i thought that i would be like...OMG I CANT BELIEVE IT OMG OMG OMG...And now i'm meh...
