There's a difference between being someone will skill who's looking for others to help on a project, and being someone who's looking to get others to do the work for them. Here's what exploit means: How does that not apply in this situation?
People who are willing to work for nothing will not be the people that will make this a success story.
People who are willing to work for nothing will not be the people that will make this a success story.
It's voluntary, that's not exploiting. I'm pretty sure these guys thought "oh hey someone wants to do a game with no money, let's see how it works out for me" They chose to work with him for absolutely nothing. How is that exploiting?
-trump vs wall-
The vibrating after every death is a bit annoying. Also, for your ads, all the skip buttons I've ever seen are in the bottom right corner. Not sure if you can change that or if it's part of Unity's ad system, though. It's a bit silly to have an ad when you return to the main menu. When retrying, sure. I disagree with Ducky3426 partially on the amount of ads. Although it is an annoying amount ads, it's par for the course with mobile apps. If you could try to go the route of optional ads (e.g. watch an ad to get a reward) as highlighted by Unity's recent "ad studies" or whatever, that would be great. But I don't think an ad every two plays is going to push away the average mobile gamer. Apart from those criticisms, it looks good. Best of luck!

Depending on how the revenue sharing agreement is worded, and perhaps especially given his father's influence, I could definitely see some variation of Hollywood Accounting being used to exploit the programmers and artists on that project. Assuming the game became profitable, a consultancy fee for contract work equalling roughly the difference between income and expenses for the company could easily be tacked on to funnel the profits into his dads account, and then shared or diverted back to the son. I'm obviously not saying that this is happening, but to say that it's unfathomable or beyond the capabilities of an experienced businessman such as his father is pretty naive. Hopefully the talent involved are aware of such tactics and have made sure that the contract isn't worded ambiguously.
even if they get fucked it's a lesson learned for them so it's a win win i guess

Did you not notice it?
I think a good analogy for this is Uber. Some people who drive for Uber do it because they have no other options - but a lot of people do it because they don't know how bad of a deal they're getting. So they drive for Uber and make some cash, and Uber and the driver split the profits, with the driver getting most of it. Except after all of the driver's taxes and expenses, Uber actually comes out ahead in the whole deal. Uber made more money than the driver despite the driver doing most of the work. Uber has exploited the driver, yet Uber is not in a position of power over the driver. Now, imagine this was more like a co-op - fellow drivers got together and created an app to help book rides for them. Each driver puts in an equal or somewhat equal amount of work, and they all share in the profits. This is what a group project like Black Mesa or Sanity Plea is like. The people looking for help will themselves put in just as much work as the people who they're hiring. It's a team effort. That's the difference.
I was part of the translation team for Black Mesa (still am afaik), and one day I stopped working on the translations. No one contacted me saying that I should get back to work, or that I was removed from the team because I idled. One day a guy contacted me and sent a key for Black Mesa because I helped translating.

I don't think it's fair to unconditionally condemn someone because of that as long as there isn't even a hint it's what's happening. Managing it and organising the contract work and so on also requires a fairly large amount of work, and a high level of skill and/or talent for the former at that. You can make the same argument for virtually any corporation with upper management. The workers do all the work but get paid less. The upper management does some work but gets paid more. This is just how capitalism works
I only come here for the pictures but this page is just text :c
Just got working nearest neighbour function for my OctTree :) I need this so I can topologically divide space between empty space and matter space.
I'm building up my first proper map and trying to make it look nice, but I can't figure out what to fill the area outside the level boundaries with. Suggestions welcome.

Flat lands, and if you go out too far, a meteor comes down and strikes you. :v:

The fact that everyone's freaking out is why you've gotta be prompt with your deliveries. It's perfect!

He shuold make it so when he drives out to far gravity gets reversed to -x so hes flying out into space :V
This is 3D btw, but I like 2D perspective My "ExpandSearch" works, you start from one node and then you can expand search through space. Lots of work is waiting me
