That font looks familiar, what's its name?
A few months ago, I was working on a Touhou + Animal Crossing "game", though I never did make the game part. [vid]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3877425/touhou-crossing/into%20the%20trash.webm[/vid]

[QUOTE=Funcoot;48974689]Did you make the art yourself? I wish I could art like that.[/QUOTE] Not at all. It's stolen from Animal Island and a Touhou fangame. Though I have had some anons donate sprite edits for certain characters. [editline]25th October 2015[/editline] My biggest problem with that game was that there was no gameplay

Blood and gibs with basic physics, platforming where the player and npc can stand on top of eachother, some dumb AI, leaning animations for movement, morphing for jumping. [vid]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24357560/Runner%202015-10-27%2021-08-56-72f02%202.webm[/vid]
Been working on a platformer lately. I've been trying to do goal driven development. I set a couple goals for myself each day and try to achieve them if I can. So far it's been going well. [vid]http://i.imgur.com/U0L8DlF.webm[/vid] So far I have a main menu (with crap art), a character select screen, simple platforming, and a pause screen. Hopefully I'll be adding more to the game soon. I want each character to have three different upgrade paths, each with a different power move. I don't know if this is too ambitious or not. I'll find out soon! :v:
moar updates pls

I did some more work on my little Touhou game last week. I've even picked up streaming its development since it keeps me focused (though I haven't the past few days because I've been too distracted). Though I still have the issue that there's no actual gameplay. I got some place holder player animations. [vid]http://s1.webmshare.com/GXwMw.webm[/vid] I'm going to be working on a simple upgrade system, soon. They way it will work is there will be coins that you get around levels. You use these coins to buy upgrade tokens which let you get better stats/moves.

Anyone want to start a steam or skype group? Would love to chat and maybe work with you all.

[vid]http://webm.host/e3906/vid.webm[/vid] Still kinda new to this stuff, but I finally have a working dialogue system made from scratch. It uses commands in the string to add pauses and change the speakers sprite, as well as animating and making sound on certain characters. This program's been a lot of fun to learn

Oh man, can you give some advice on how you did that voice/audio? I want to do something similar and my method was to record myself talking then slice it randomly together and while it sounded okay with a pitch change, I'm really curious as to how games like Undertale and Animal Crossing do it

My dialoger works off an alarm that is continuously being reset to "text speed", where it copies a string letter by letter into the drawn text variable, skipping over and firing the commands. Then it's just an if function to check if the current character that's been copied isn't a space. If it isn't, it fires a script to check who the current speaker is, then play their according voice clip. The voice itself is half a second of some 8bit pulse wave. It's not the final sound I'm gonna use.

[QUOTE=Isaac96;49455715]Howd ya do that. This game looks great btw[/QUOTE] Recorded videos of the game using Fraps, then created GIFs of the videos using LICEcap.
As someone who's currently trying to figure out what program i should use to start learning how to make my 2D dream game, this post was very helpful. Thanks!
