Man,that is looking great. If you can model all of those cars on your list it would make a god-like vehicle pack
Do you mean like the bed of a truck where you put stuff in or do you mean an actual bed with pillow, matress etc?
pillow matress with tented windows
Great stuff, Chris. Glad it's all coming together. :D
Very nice looking. I can't wait for the final renders.
Me to, although I can't really do proper renders in XSI mod tool since it has a limit of 512x512 pixels, full versions of XSI don't have a limit though and since I'm going to be going to university in a year and a half I may invest in a student version.

Thanks

Thanks, although I probably won't be able to model all of them, depends on if I can get blueprints but I don't think that I will have the time to do all of them, it's just a list of cars I would like to model.
Also I have been able to find blueprints for the 1935 Auburn 851 Speedster, I have decided that this will be the next car to be modeled.

Absolutely, also that site is amazing.
i just thought of somthing for the charger , do a road going one and then jack it up and give it some really good offroad tyres,a few fog lamps and big bullbars
man that would be sweet...

You mean like the Patriot Surger from Motorstorm:

Seems like a good idea, but I will need to see. It shouldn't be too hard to do these variants once I get the base model done, then basically all I need to do is just change and add small details.
what modeling program do you use cause im thinking of trying to make a door and hood or roof for jalopy and front fenders
3DS Max, I think.
what modeling program do you use cause im thinking of trying to make a door and hood or roof for jalopy and front fenders
Well technically that's what I'm doing because the Jalopy was a 1969 Dodge Charger.
3DS Max, I think.
No I use XSI Mod Tool, a completely free alternative which in my opinion is better suited to modeling for the Source engine since it comes completely ready to export the correct file formats and it comes with numerous reference models made by valve themselves.

That wouldent be to hard to do would it? Btw. Chris. I know you don't do ports but can you do a few for darktrace? We need a NYPD crown vic and some random cars nothing fancy just need them to drive. Ill add the sound and such. We,ll chat about it on steam sometime. But yeah. That offroad charger would be great!!!
Btw. Chris. I know you don't do ports but can you do a few for darktrace? We need a NYPD crown vic and some random cars nothing fancy just need them to drive. Ill add the sound and such.
Well I can't give away details but your covered on that, not sure on an exact release date, lets just say I have some insider info.

Yeah the current wheels aren't that good, they're just placeholders until I do a better wheel. These one are very poly intensive and I will most likely do another set soon.
Also I appreciate the offer of help but I would prefer to do this on my own, otherwise how am I supposed to learn? :)
EDIT: This is what I'm going for with the interior:

looks like they fused a dodge charger with a gran torino lol
awesome the charger's looking pretty damn good for being unfinished, i have a question about the interior will the steering wheel/gauges be animated?
What about a 1974 Dodge Monaco?
That seems good.
What about a 67-68 Mercury Cougar?
That seems good as well.
Try to do more rare Cars then the one's you would see everyday
That's why I'm doing a 1969 Dodge Charger, If that's the kind of car you see everyday then I want to live where you do. I'm sorry if this comes out slightly rude or whatever but I'm tired at the moment (currently 3:51 AM here).
i have a question about the interior will the steering wheel/gauges be animated?
The steering wheel definitely will be animated and I'm hoping that the dials will be too.
The steering wheel definitely will be animated and I'm hoping that the dials will be too.
ooooOOOOOooo kewl
Yes. The dials MUST be animated. They also must have accurate speed indicators XD.
It should also go as fast as you can make it go while still having it be stable.
Bump.
Bump.
There is no need to bump the thread, you posted just one day ago so it's not like it's dead or anything.
Yes. The dials MUST be animated. They also must have accurate speed indicators XD.
It may be hard to get the dials to read accurately since Source measures speed in generic units a second rather than kilometers/miles an hour but I will try.
It should also go as fast as you can make it go while still having it be stable.
Well of course.
I've found something to keep everyone occupied until I update my model. Here are some images of another Dodge Charger model I found on SMCars.net, I did not make this.

I should be able to give you an update on my model soon.
