yes I know it was the 60's and I said so, the 80's is when the interest and the cost of buying a muscle car from the 60's - 71 went up because of the end of the gas crysis in the 70's which is when people just wanted to get rid of them because they couldnt afford the gas and bought cars like the 240 z or econoboxes that they could afford to drive. and the tougher legislation on new high performance cars in the early to late 80 got downright ridiculous with the 55 mph speed limit, the speedos under law geting set to a maxium of 80 mph because any faster and they said it would encourage speeding and the stricter emmisions requirements which handicapided most sports cars at about 180 to 200 hp (just look at the corvettes hp ratings of the time along with the buick grand national and even the ur quattro) which boosted the interest in high performance cars from the 60's producing 300+ hp from the getgo along with replicas of cars that were exempt from this legislation and still are because there clasified as kit cars like the superformance gt 40 or cobra the great exceptions being the testarossa and the countach, the kings of the sports car world back then till the late 80's (excluding the 1984 288 gto, which the f40 was based off of and the Porsche 959) and theres another reason why the 1960's cars are the ones everyone goes for, they were build much lighter than todays cars, hell the modern challenger is about a quarter ton heavier (500 pounds) than the old one with a 440 magnum and with less weight to haul around the car requires less power to get up to speed so the power to weight ratio is much higher, the catch is the aerodynamics, handling and brakes are from the 60's, the last two being fixed by companies like hotchkis suspension nowadays thought. and its 14 1971 hemi cuda convertibiles not 20, I know of atleast 4, two white and black ones one of which that was sent to france of all places, a blue/blue one and this one which the nash bridges cuda (which is where I fell in love with this car from in the first place) is based off of.
Wall of words.
Yeah...what he said <_<
'69 hemi charger, one of my favorite mopars.
Update: I've put the emblems on the car and added/improved a few things including reversing lights, side lights and rivets to hold the bumpers on. It looks official with the emblems in all the right spots.
God it looks sexy...makes me want to eat it up.... Sorry, bit out of it, just got back from a party...
Damn this looks awesome :D
so wait... on the rear quarter panel it had an emblem? i thought it was just painted on with the stripe...not an actual bolt on emblem
so wait... on the rear quarter panel it had an emblem? i thought it was just painted on with the stripe...not an actual bolt on emblem
Its what we call a "Speicel Edishun" :v:
so wait... on the rear quarter panel it had an emblem? i thought it was just painted on with the stripe...not an actual bolt on emblem
It was an option, you could either have the Bumble Bee stripe, an embossed R/T emblem (as shown), both of them together or nothing at all. I'm planning to have all of those options accessible through bodygroups so you can mix and match to your liking.
this cars going to be so sweet i cant wait till you get it and the general lee skin done

I think Richard Hammond summed up the dodge chargers dukes of hazzard history perfectly even the "umph".... the dukes of hazzard had a charger, lets just forget about that, that was an embarrassing episode in the cars past. thered be atleast 300+ more chargers on the road if it wasnt for that show (if the numbers about how many they wrecked are correct) not counting the movies, tv specials and all of the cannibalized replicas of it.

(same question with the daytonas that you have planned for later)

This looks fabulous! Is XSI hard to use?
This looks fabulous! Is XSI hard to use?
I don't find it hard to use at all but others say they do so it's difficult to give you an answer on that, personally I reccomend you get XSI Mod Tool and find some tuts, it's free anyway so you're not losing anything. Give it a go and see how you get on.
I got 3ds Max though. I'm not sure which one is easier to use.
This is gonna make a great late birthday present to me. :buddy:

I dont know that much about it but its a source version of a fairly popular online shooter mod from the hl1 days and they've been working on it for 3 years and being a big css fan I'm kinda hoping it'll be a more logical shooter with better hitboxes than css.

Small Update: The Charger's model is still on target for completion at the end of the week, it may even be done on saturday. Sorry I haven't been posting images lately but the ambient occlusion rendering process slows me down a lot so if I had done it then I would be behind scedule now. I have done a quick realtime render to show some of the things I have been doing. I've completely remade the underside of the car, the rear suspension has been improved and the front will be next. This is a thread for the charger, i know i may of de-railed it a bit, but i always let it lie. 2. Black Sand Studios doesn't like anyone porting there stuff over to other games, i should know, i play Project Reality quite alot!
I don't think it would say 426 in the door. Im pretty sure that it is supposed to say HEMI.
