I must admit though that I haven't seen an image which shows that emblem on a Dodge Charger, it's always just the HEMI without the 426 on top but I think that it still looks good on the car, at the end of the day I can always have both available in different bodygroups. I'm not changing it yet though.

I said the model, as in the mesh, being complete at the end of the week. There will still be texturing and rigging/animation to do after that however I don't think they will take much more than another week to do.

The final version of the model is complete, I will be doing texturing next. The final polycount is 41,617 but that includes all the extras such as the badges which will be toggleable in the game along with some other features such as the headlight covers. I will be taking another look over the model to see what can be slimmed down to remove unnecessary polygons.
I have added a lot of underside detail which will be entirely animated for use in the game, this includes the drive shaft. There have been a few other improvements to the front lights and some other external features as well.

The L4D2 Charger escape vehicle has 19,318 but that model has no interior, windows (the windows are in a separate model) or rear lights.
The HL2:Ep2 Jalopy has 16,536.

and before anyone says anything about high poly, remember that the jalopy only looks half decent because of clever shaders, and as long as you don't try to spawn 50 of these on an entry-level card you won't see any issues.

There's no way in hell you are gonna' have time to make all those cars you've wanted to make Chris...would take more than a lifetime.
Although, nice charger...I had the weirdest dream...of course sometimes I'll have two to five dreams in one night...but one part lebron james blew up a gas station and my imaginary junkie charger across the street, in my dream, I was pissed. :\
It was his first model that he wanted to make super detailed so of course the first time its going to take awhile to get right and this was his on and off project, he wasn't working on it full time over the past two years
after all he had to learn all of the techniques to make it as good as it is now from the get go himself
like doing it one part at a time to make sure he didnt screw up another part trying to make that one look right.
so the next one will take time but not as long as this one because he knows what to expect and how to make it now in a productive manner now.
and god I hope he chooses the ur quattro for the next one, that thing is a fucking epic car.

I always think of retired cars returning to GT5.
If you've played past GT titles, I'm sure you really want them back in GT5.
And they could use more muscle cars.
I never like the Charger they put it in GT4.

I agree the GT series could always use more classic V8 powered muscle. Though I thought the GT series seemed to focus more on actual race cars then street cars, which was fine with me I'm a fan of all high performance machines. If I remember right the charger in GT4 was a '70 and I had an orange one. As for selling the model, yeah Chris could make money of it but its his decision not ours.

youd hope, but... wont happen. after the charger its either a few things for the pack or a fueled mod update. along with the OTHER charger addons.... the possible props like in fueled mod, and the daytona version, and the wrecked one... if he wants to do it that is

I can't sell the model because it was made using free software, it's part of the EULA. XSI Mod Tool can only be used for non-commercial work, however if I were to buy a full version of Softimage XSI then maybe I could sell it but that's $2995.

my brother did 2 models for il2 for about a grand a piece awhile ago so I dont think you'd get that much for it, let alone enought to cover the nearly 3 grand price for the program alone.
so its not economical nor logical, unless you'd use it in your resume to try and get hired by them to make some cars for any upocoming dlc cars that they'll probably go for with gt5.
Oh MY GOD! This is amazing! You should really make some XSI Modtool tutorials, the free tutorials for XSI are scarce... most of them you have to pay for...

I have the same problem, I want the full version to cause of facerobot - mental ray... and the other stuff but its so dang expensive....
If you want, you can sell it on turbo squid... make some render photos in photoshop so it wont have the modtool watermark.... they wont know the difference..
