I love beating the high scores on the speedwall.
Heh, not for long... :allears:
Scott for the life of me I cant get the car up to the necessary speed for the jumps, the only thing I was able to do was to fix the balance of the car by moving the "countertorquefactor down 0.2 rather than 6 and then increasing the front axels "torquefactor from 0.4" to 06 to keep it from spinning out. and I really need to know what map/maps you'll be using it on to optimize it for it
I really need to know what map/maps you'll be using it on to optimize it for it
Well the specific map we're gonna be using for the helicopter chase scene is Gm_Bigcity , since it's the only citymap we can find with vehicular access to the rooftops , for smaller jumps , wheeled vehicle wise , we'll be using places like rp_csc desert , and rp_cityway etc
So i haven't been in here for a long time, so im just wondering how is the progress?
rp_cityway? no wonder you were complaining about its turning speed I normally use the thing on maps like tropic_fever and gm_multitrax so I'll try an optomise it for that map using gm_clandestine_v1 roads underneath that bridge
So i haven't been in here for a long time, so im just wondering how is the progress?
Nothing much, i am still waiting for my copy of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, and Chris is playing with his copy...
rp_cityway? no wonder you were complaining about its turning speed
yeah you have a point , but we're trying to go for a very urban type of environment , sure i could switch to tropic fever if we , somehow manage to work a tropic location into the script of the movie , but cityway was our first choice because of the HDR and the high quality surroundings , we WERE going to use evocity2 , but we thought that placing more cameras , having more people setting stuff up , would take longer cause of the bigger span , and it'd maybe look TOO empty , if you get my drift
Nothing much, i am still waiting for my copy of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, and Chris is playing with his copy...
Oh i have played that game when it was old and pixelated puke game...... i hope this new version is way better
Oh i have played that game when it was old and pixelated puke game...... i hope this new version is way better
It wasn't puke, it was a pretty awesome game...
Hell is still remember playing that back in the day on that ridge map with the 25 aniversary countach and in the sequel ditching the cops with the vanquish on that coast level based on italy or something.
Scott I'm currently working on tweaking the steering, but if you want a quick fix on the jumping problem up the "countertorquefactor" from 0.6 to 0.7: it seems to make the thing a hell of alot more stable in flight and put the "torquefactor" for the front axel back to 0.4 and I have to know is it tight corners the car was giving you trouble on or was it from dodging stuff like say the cones in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga6gjaEyMrA
Scott check your profile messages on here, I sent you a new script for the interceptor throught it.
Thanks man :), I'll message you some feedback once we've tested it. I'll try to do that ASAP.
Ok small update on what i'm currently doing: I'm mostly finished with Hot Pursuit but I am now working on a short film for University, it's live action with an animated character, once it is finished I will post the film on youtube for you all to see. As far as the Charger is concerned I hadn't done much until yesterday but I finally started baking the AO maps and it's turned out pretty well, at the moment I have only done the wheels because they were the simplest to set up for the procedure: I haven't made a render with the texture applied but I can tell you that it does look pretty much the same as a normal Ambient Occlusion render so I'm confident that it will look very good in the game. Right now I am dedicating most of my time to the short film because the deadline is next thursday although that may be subject to change due to the snow we've had over the last few days closing the campus.

To restore an old Ford Capri to workshop standards. The temperature here for the last 3 days has been -11*c . So our workshop compressor is on the fritz. However it's good to see even a small update to the car , And i look forward to seeing more , even if it is just little ones here and there. Every little bit counts right ? . Good luck with the film , hope it turns out well ^.^

Chris how's it coming along with the charger?
I remember when he started this thread, A lot of progress has been made. whats left to do?
Chris how's it coming along with the charger?
Well the snow did cause a lot of disruption so it delayed the short film until this coming monday (13th December), no progress on the charger for this reason. I'll post the film up when it's done, it will be called 'Man or Mouse?'
I remember when he started this thread, A lot of progress has been made. whats left to do?
Finishing the textures and rigging/animation mainly, then once it's released I may consider doing alternate versions and modifications.
This is a short film which I made for my university 'Body Language' project, the main limitations were that we were told to use very little or no dialogue but were otherwise given free reign. Story: An author is working late into the night to finish his book but when he falls asleep his story begins to come to life around him. The mouse in the film was hand drawn for every frame and then cut out so it could be placed in the room, it was very hard to get consistent movement and prevent unnecessary juddering but overall I think I did a good job especially considering I've never tried anything like this before. I am also considering making an improved version of this film by performing colour correction on the images to try and equalise the colour balance in some shots and I will try to remove the visible 'helpers' I used (Masking tape and fishing line).
Nice Chris! The mouse is very cute!
That film is awesome, and the mouse was so cute! Hope you get a excellent grade!
Gah Justin bieber!! KILL HIM!!!
Nice video, although a lot of the shots in towards the beginning were very long and not much went on, unless you did that for a specific reason, I'd try not to in others you make. Makes it very boring and the viewer loses their focus. It was only when the guy was typing/falling asleep/close up of the time on the monitor. 3 very long shots for what they were.

(stolen question >:)
