Nothing new really some people spy on me too, I tell things but they still want to know more... we can call that stalking too.
New Renders: I decided to have a go at using the 'Car Paint' shader in XSI and I think that the results are pretty good for a first attempt. I still haven't managed to get lights working properly so all the illumination in the scene is still created by the Ambient Occlusion shader. I'm not going to work on improving the renders at least until the Interior has been textured so don't expect any more content related posts until then. With the sport quattro concept I dont know, I get the same sort of mixed feelings about it that I do with the new 458 italia. the side profile looks great, the front is... different like they decided to start with an evo, quattrofied it and then they thought hey we oughta make the grill look like its from a monkfish. still just like the original sport quattro its starting to grow on me but still I'd take gene's quattro with a black leather interior over it in a heartbeat and concerning the interceptor I've run into abit of a brick wall with it at high speeds because of the way its rigged up with 0.9 going throught the rear axel and 0.6 the front. Theres almost like a cowl shake going on with it at its new top speed... 90 mph when it reaches it, it shakes for a moment and drops 5 mph, ive managed to somewhat subdued it so it wont cause a crash but I cant get rid of it without lowering its top end to 60 mph and reducing the power to the rear end to the point where its almost the same as the front with a 0.6 for the front and 0.7 to the rear set up going. so chris do you have any idea how I could fix that, I mean have you ever run into that before with your cars?

Also as far as I know 120 mph is (was?) the maximum speed for a physics prop to travel at in Source. Do you want me to change the model's rig in some way? To be honest I would stop focusing on speed and just try to make the car fun to drive at speeds we can actually attain on the average gmod map, they're usually too small to really exploit such high speeds and should instead be optimised for better handling.
Well the thing is 90 - 100 seems to be a good number to stick with (and I had the car doing 120+ in gmod once I was just screwing around with it, the actual max is 220 for gm, 120 in the normal game). it alows the car to get around a huge map at a good pace and a medium sized map quickly, hell its only the valve made maps that the car feels too fast for and thats because of how the maps were designed around a car that can only do 35 mph tops. (and the charger and the scout car are missing every part essential to there operation but thats a different story) Plus theres a ton of people making cars from scratch using wire that can easily match that and then some, hell the noclip speed for a human in gmod is actually 85 mph which on certain maps actually seems quite slow and I like the way the interceptor handles right now in its new form but its just that shake in a straight line on a flat road like on a quarter mile drag racing straight thats bothering me. and the cars top speed actually changes based on the road your driving on in gm so its not set in stone, to the point were on certain maps it can only do about 60 yet 90 on some surfaces, so by lowering it on a smooth surface it makes the car even slower on a rough surface. Actually if you want I can send you the script and tell you what map to use to see what I'm talking about if you want. and yay! 200 posts!.
True, in GM you can go faster than 200... For example a few years ago I made a script for a Mazda RX-7 and I tested it on a map that was made for drag racing (can't remember the name), I tested the cars there and the car was tuned so much it felt like it's flying while driving it... Also problem is that when you add more speed power to the vehicle you can't really get a nice handling, it's ruined, it's driving like you're drunk... (so it's only good for drag racing nothing else...) When you set up a speed about of 100 then you can actually make a nice handling script, like MC said fun to drive, and I personally like fun :D But yeah also depends of the map too...

Chris I worked it out throught the process of elimination, since most of the power is coming throught the rear wheels you have to stabilize the front axel, and throught the process of elimination I've found that if you lower the number of these three stats it makes it stiffer Front Axel: "mass" "105" "inertia" "2.0" // steady the car (fixes the oscillation of the axles about z) "damping" "1.6" "rotdamping" "2.0" Rear Axel "mass" "105" "inertia" "1.8" // steady the car (fixes the oscillation of the axles about z) "damping" "1.8" "rotdamping" "1.8" by lowering the damping stat alone you make the car far faster, so much so that it equals the kind of speed the rears putting out (and if you put it to 0.0 on both the rear and the front end it will accelerate to the cars set top speed in a few seconds, which I have reset to a 140) so I balanced it out by softening out the other two stats to help with the sudden increase of speed in the front end resulting in a 70 percent drop in that cowel shake problem It was giving me, plus it not only stabilized the front end at high speed, it stabilized both its top speed and turbo, the top speed is now 87 mph and when boost is enabled 98 - 103 so far I need to do a little more testing with it and try tweaking it a little bit more but I should be done with it soon.
