Just wondering, would it be possible to give the windows the ability to go up and down. Not saying you should add, just wondering if it would be possible.

Well I can animate them yes but actually triggering the animation is the hard part, it would require lua coding if you wanted to do it when driving the vehicle. There may be methods that allow you to play sequences on vehicles using hammer entities but I would have to research that and it would only work on one map anyway.
That's what I thought, but It would be possible. That's interesting to know.
Oh no .... What is Cookie planning :P
Animated driveshaft and moving headlight covers made my jaw drop. Cant wait for new in-game shots of the interior.
(Been visiting this thread since Cookie's Vigilante 8 pack)
Cookie's idea is also interesting. Maybe the windows could be triggered when someone enters the car, then closes itself when the driver exits.
^ That's actually an interesting idea, but what if someone wants the AC on?
Yeah, or wants to listen to the in car radio? Or if the seat is too far foreword, does it come with adjustable seats?
In theory, you could do all of that with enough bones, hell, if you do it right, you could make the mirrors (that are not actual mirrors) adjustable. The possibilities are endless!

:ohdear: Errr... Well the interior isn't properly textured yet, probably should have mentioned that earlier. It's just black at the moment, I wanted to get a working version ready so I could start doing some filming with it in the source engine. The first pictures/footage will show just the exterior.
Once I'm satisfied with the rig, animations and general handling of the car in-game then I will go back and UV map the interior properly. By the way if anyone could help me look for some good leather and fabric textures that would be really helpful, also some imitation woodgrain for the dashboard.
Another thing I am planning to do is to create some nice normal maps for the wheels by creating a high poly model with the tread and writing on the sidewall.
But you were doing basic textures for filming... ...right?
Yeah, please say yes. Cause well, I'm itching to do a freaking video!

Damn, if I knew for this earlier I could provide you the needed textures, I had tons of textures on my hdd that I made for random mods and when I stopped working on them I backed up everything on a disc now my problem is finding that disc. If I eventually manage to find it I'll send you some textures in a pm here if that's ok with you.
http://www.cgtextures.com/ is a nice place for textures. you should take a look there

Now that you mentioned it, take your time, finish the exterior first. No need to make a ultra realistic interior like the GTA4 cars.
GTA 4 cars have crap interiors
GTA 4 cars have crap interiors
Yeah, there low quality because your always 3rd person...
Pretty much
Pretty much
Don't "pretty much" me...
...WHY DO YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES WHEN WE MAKE LOVE? :smith:
Cause your face scares me?
Cause your face scares me?
D:

When i need textures, that's the first place i look.
And then we all saw Mickey Mouse :D
But not Goofy... Cause he's an asshole.
Small update: The Skeleton for the Charger has been pretty much finalised, the total amount of bones used is 81.
Now all that has to be done is merge the numerous meshes into a single mesh, render the Ambient Occlusion for the remaining parts, envelope the mesh to the bones and animate it all, plus one or two minor UV mistakes which I hadn't noticed before. Overall it's coming along very nicely.
So now that you got a really nice B-body shape, you should make the other years of chargers ;) Ha ha. Well I can't wait till you are done this!

Well personally I would like to do the '68 next, the '70 is not so high on my list. To be honest though I don't know if or when I will do either of them because there are many other things I want to do besides more Chargers.
Yeah like a 1970 Corvette Stingray >_>
Or the miura or the 86 countach lp500 or maybe bond's aston martin DB5 complete with all the gadgets.
