I had a pretty... interesting journey to Uni this morning. Nearly had a high speed crash on the A331, this is where it was: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=&q=a331+&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=A331,+GU10+1,+United+Kingdom&ll=51.277343,-0.734677&spn=0.001116,0.003272&t=f&z=19&layer=c&cbll=51.277343,-0.734677&panoid=vlOUCYQzJG1LIrP7UZNVfQ&cbp=12,185.29,,0,0 Here's the story, there were some trucks in the slow lane and I was behind a tall van overtaking them in the fast lane as we went around the bend, because it was raining so heavily at the time and I couldn't see around the van I had no idea that there was an ambulance stopped in the fast lane ahead of us. Suddenly the van swerves back into the slow lane after just getting in front of the last truck and I could finally see the ambulance ahead of me blocking the lane. Because I still hadn't overtaken the trucks I couldn't merge into the slow lane and at this point I was probably doing 70-75 mph. I started braking but I panicked and the wheels locked (No ABS on my car) when I got down to about 50 mph, this caused the engine to stall immediately and I couldn't steer, thankfully at this point the road straightened out, otherwise I would have hit the central reservation for sure. By the time I came to a halt I was probably only about 1 or 2 meters away from the back of the ambulance, I'm guessing that but it's about the same distance I would leave between me and the car in front at a set of traffic lights, possibly a little more. I'm still not entirely sure why the ambulance was there because it didn't look as if there had been a crash (prior to this anyway) but there was another car on the grass near the central barrier, I think that the driver may have had a heart attack at the wheel or some other sudden illness but still managed to stop safely before calling the ambulance to his location. Got to say it's one hell of a good way to wake yourself up in the morning if you're feeling a bit drowsy.
Pretty lucky I guess, or unlucky since you had to experience it?.. Anyway, we're all happy that it turned out ok for you. Look on the bright side :) I've finished installing the lights to all the vehicles. ;)
Awesome. Hey Master Chris, how many time you spent in Dodge Charger?
I could imagine locking up a lil 106 (or a 306, according to Jack), i would guess its pant-shittingly scary... But anyway, happy you didn't get yourself killed, i would go all sad face... :frown:
But anyway, happy you didn't get yourself killed, i would go all sad face... :frown:
... and the Charger would never be finished, maybe that's what saved me. On the day I finally finish it I'll end up paying for all my good fortune over the years and i'll be killed in every way imaginable. It would have been terribly ironic to be killed by crashing into an ambulance though.

Also, i guess that PassPlus did help for you. :)
The only other ironic death in a car would be getting hit by a fire truck and bursting into flames.
The only other ironic death in a car would be getting hit by a fire truck and bursting into flames.
What about being hit by a 69 charger?
What about being hit by a 69 charger?
Oh you! Yeah that would be very ironic. It'd be more ironic if it had black glass and a black interior
Jesus, college is going to be boring today i can tell...
Jesus, college is going to be boring today i can tell...
I bet my highschool was more boring than your college today.

Also, as i speak i am installing Windows 7 to my computer, should be up and working tonight... ...should... I had to rip apart my mobile 500Gb HDD to get this to work,so it better work...
I just spent my day on the CoD wiki looking through the back-storys to all the charicters...
I spent my entire day thinking how boring the rest of the day is going to be. On the related to the thread note: found allot of bugs in the light system, fixed all of them, chris contact me through skype got few questions and ready for beta release script for ya.
Sounds pretty boring. Anyway, i have successfully installed my new OS back onto this puny lil HDD Another problem, what is wrong with this picture? Hint: Gmod loves it...

Shouldn't the OS only take .5 and not 1 gb of ram?
Its probably summed up, it most likely uses something like 3.4 gigs.
Basicly, i have 1Gb of RAM gone... I was surprised you guys didn't get it...
Basicly, i have 1Gb of RAM gone... I was surprised you guys didn't get it...
Its probably using about 3.4 gigs, your system just rounds it, 32bit OS cant handle 4 gigs, even if your hardware can.
Its probably using about 3.4 gigs, your system just rounds it, 32bit OS cant handle 4 gigs, even if your hardware can.
I have got 32-bit OS's to run with 4Gb before
I have got 32-bit OS's to run with 4Gb before
Its probably still running about the same as with the last version of you OS, I bet its running somewhere close to 3.5 and its just rounded. Anyway, any new progress on the development? Sound done/nearly done? Also, I've done everything that is on my to-do list, anything else the community would like to be added?
Real working MIRRORS! So i can see who im running away from... Also, im going to be doing some handling scripts for the charger tonight, would anyone like to see anything done on the script handling wise? Let me know...

I can't do the real life looking mirrors, atleast in non-hacky way.. I guess I could try something like a back camera where I'd position the rt camera and draw the view on you screen somewhere, tho never messed with RT view before. Atleast you can look back using the mouse control.
Just make sure I can boost in the thing without spinning out. :colbert:
Can't anyway... Won't be scripting until later on or tommorow, im sooooo tired right now...
Charger has been uploaded to the public beta! Go to the vehicle pack thread for more info.
I love the car but theres something off about the model that I cant quite put my finger on, it has either something to do with the roof or the rear side windows or possibly both. the rear side window possibly because it doesnt seem like it's (for a lack of a better word) inlaid enough into the model like on the real one: http://www.loughmillermotors.com/69charger0.jpg either that or it needs to be bigger and cut more into the roof http://www.allpar.com/images/models/1969-Charger-RT-1024-08.jpg and if its both it might mean that the roof is also a touch to wide looking which would explain why it looks more boxy than normal right now. by the way what are the rims that are on this model called, are they magnum 500's?

As for the car itself these are exactly the things which kept me from releasing it sooner, because I obsessed over small details. In the end I've tried to make it look good if not 100% accurate. This is why I've released it, so that you can all enjoy what i've done so far while I take a break and do something else. I don't want to end up hating what i've created, i'm going to leave it for a while and come back to it when I've done new things.
Sorry Chris I know your taking a break from working the charger it but I just finally figured out what was off about it: its not the side windows nor the roof its the area around the front windshield, specifically the A pillers that are a touch too thick: Freeze at 2:00 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RMCw4JpMrQ http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/8811/69charger0.jpg http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/9937/gmbigcity0002g.jpg and its not the edge of the a Piller that meets with the door, its the edge that meets with the windshield that goes out too far into the glass and thus makes it look too strong (60's cars were notorious for having their roofs buckle in during a roll over because of how thin the A pillers were)
