Could this gun be remodelled after creation to become a Sten?

no
That's an entirely different weapon.
Why does everybody want to make those copycat Soviet weapons? Somebody has to make a Suomi KP/-31 SMG, which the Soviets COPYED when they were creating the PPSh-41.

Although I'm finnish too, I thought WE actually copied it from SOVIETS.
OP, make one with round magazine, I wanna make some Winter War poses!

PPD-40 was a copy. PPSh-41 just incorporated some of the features.
Also, speaking of copying, you are aware that the finns have made like 8 copycat variants of the nagant, right?

GOD FUCKING DAMMIT. I'm Finnish, AND SOVIET DID COPY THE FREAKING REALLY MUCH BETTER SUOMI SMG. That CAN fire 13 shots in a second for the highest rate of fire. That's what i'm thinking, i may seem pretty mad in this post, understandable but i'm not.
Also really nice nice PPSH.
Also Stene, start supporting this thread from me if you want some more Finnish stuff.

Stene, you maybe could finish Millenias Suomi SMG that is on that thread if you ask nicely it from him. lol
The Suomi SMG was designed in 1921 and I highly doubt that the Soviets had access to a time machine to produce a PPsH-41 before that. As the number illustrates, it was developed in 1941 to counter the Suomi M/31 (it was put in service in 1931).
But enough of that now, let's concentrate on the model.

The PPSh-41 uses the same ammo as the original Suomi KP and the drum magazine that it uses can be mounted to the Suomi KP too. So now that we should concentrate on the model, in case somebody in these forums begins creating a Suomi KP, the drum magazine could be taken from this existing model already.
The blueprints of the Suomi KP were leaked to USSR in mid of 1930's by a Finnish-Soviet spy, but it wasn't until 1940 when they decided to move from the Tokarevs to SMG's, and they made the PPD-40 which is almost a complete copy, and then used the same blueprints as a base for the PPSh-41.
erm...... ok... can you not discuss this anywhere else? as to waxx, id really appreciate some images of the gun up close, some of the finer detail? i didn't realise you owned one :D that's pretty insane!! thanks in advance :D now i no how you know so much.
Ironsights are looking good so far, can't wait for release!
Here's kind of a poor shot of the sights. Try to ignore the fact that mine is missing a front sight.

gonna start cleaning it up abit, by the way the below the gun on the top image is a strap, ready to be put on the gun. It'll move when you move the gun etc..
right, i've cleaned up the gun, and grouped it all up il post a picture soon, anyone reakon i can make this in one uvmap?
As a skinner, I'd say the best UVmap for this would be two: One for the stock, one for the receiver, barrel shroud and magazine. If need be, split the last two into two separate maps.
nah two should be a piece of cake lol, you can give the texture a go if you want, il post it up, i will be skinning it anyways but if you want to do it then feel free :)
Can you post the UVmap just in case I want to make a version of this? ;]
sure man what i was planning, so working on two maps now, will post an update later, pretty sure i wont finish tonight, cant really be bothered to fully uvmap it tonight.
problem is i modeled the barrel to the stock so i think, il group the drum mag with the strap, and mag release, trigger and funny thing infront of trigger... lol
60 years ago some country copied my countries gun and now you're making it?? I'm mad mister.
serious: great model keep up the good work
haha lol cheers man, decided im just gonna make it all in one map, but the strap, for the reason i can re use it after.

Alright cool man. :D
Now I'm excited to try and make a sexy wood texture!
progress so far, i've uved the stock, so like 5% done lol.. tried to avoid any stretching at top, proving very annoying.
Yeah, I suck at UV mapping anything more than a cube. I usually get someone else to kindly do it for me. ;]
progress so far:

see what i mean about stretching, i'm gonna do as much as i can then just tweak it best i can after.
The mag and the stock look good, but I see what you mean on the rest. Good progress nonetheless.
lol no no there the only parts i've done so far (big squars are all done :)
Then I don't see any stretching at all really. The part near the sights has smaller squares though. :P
