http://www.fpsbanana.com/skins/43678 Rig it with these animations :D
wow a lot nicer than mine :D, i wanna make my own, but you can do it after i release if you want.
just please for the love of god don't make the hands gripping the drum.
What? He's not an idiot.
What? He's not an idiot.
We know. It's just that the FPSbanana link above showed the guy's hand on the drum magazine. Either two screenshots just happened to be on the reload animation, or someone had a really bad idea.
Haven't really started the animations yet (well properly, it's all ready now though), should i make the hands just hold behind the mag? or in front? or on top, i have no idea, i think il look on youtube. look: and: don't think it matters how i animate it really, i personally like when they hold the barrel shroud. Think doing it behind the trigger will be awkard to animate.
so guys tried, playing about with it, i don't like what i got, but... i think for now it'll do, gave it a quick spec and normal map, and this is how its looking... very ugly i think.
Your highlights are very strange, if that's what those brightened areas are. Also I would advise making the grain flow with the model, right now it looks like you just pasted a wood texture on there. It could also use some dark areas where people handle the gun. It really helps if you hand paint the grunge on, it tends to look better. You're missing all the detail on the front and back of the drum mags, including the winding key, the indents on the front/back, etc. Also make it more red, Soviets make their stocks blood red. Finally, the metal looks too bright with way too harsh highlights, tone the highlights down, brighten some scratches and make the metal darker with a blue tint.
just please for the love of god don't make the hands gripping the drum.
That's one of the ways they fired this gun. I don't really see a problem.
ok guys will work on it :) i actually don't like texturing at all, well not for gun models, don't know why i just tend to like get bored, thing is i want to get better, just don't have much time to put in at the moment, and it's one of them things that takes a while to see the end result.
Looking good. Please make more WWII weapons :V... We already have Nagant, TT Tokarev and now PPŠ-41 aka. PPSh-41. :D
i like making weapons, but must admit do bore me a bit :\ only because i never feel I'm using my imagination its all accurate and i donno, not really hard work for me. But its time consuming :( (if it wasn't i would make more). Right guys il post an animation later so you can see my progress :) but for now gonna make all the animations, then stick the strap in later, because i ran into some problems when i made mine... basically gotta go through the process again, make sure i scale it first lol
If you've ever held one you'd know it's uncomfortable as hell to hold it that way. They generally only hold it that way when they're prone or have something to put their on or rest the gun on. Otherwise it's almost impossible to keep a grip on that and it forces your body into an uncomfortable stance. Besides it's generally accepted with all firearms that it's a bad idea to hold onto the magazine because it can cause jams, in some guns it can royally fuck up the magazine and whatnot. You're supposed to hold onto it just behind the drum magazine or on the heat shield.
Do want P90 replacement. And gmod swep :3

The best way is to hold the wood part between the drum and the trigger, plus, it's most visually appealing (i think).

Really the whole design is terrible in the ergonomics department.
Yeah but then you risk the cocking handle hitting your finger if you're not paying attention. Really the whole design is terrible in the ergonomics department.
And that's why SMGs have improved since then.
Yeah but then you risk the cocking handle hitting your finger if you're not paying attention. Really the whole design is terrible in the ergonomics department.
punishment for those not aware of all aspects of combat at all times.
If you've ever held one you'd know it's uncomfortable as hell to hold it that way.
Owning one myself, I can say that no, it is not bad to hold it this way. In fact I find it to be the most comfortable of any other way of holding it. Holding it by the drum magazine really isn't as big a deal as people make it out to be. Drum mags are prone to jamming to begin with, you holding it isn't going to make it any worse than it already is.
ok how about i just make 2 alternations? then there will be no complaints lol, then i will release both, and you guys can choose, sorry for no progress, been a bit busy with my social life :) had a good night out in the town :D will get back to animating today :)
hey guys, just to show i'm still working on this here's a sneak preview of the idle animation :) i've decided i will add the strap at the very end, as i've had some problems with it >: ( also the animating is getting on my tits!! i'm working on this when ever i get the chance so give me some slack :) if anyone else wants to give animating a go just pm me il send you the model. enjoy...
is this gonna be a swep or a model replacement if swep then good if replacement i want it ti replace the p90.
i want to make a swep so i can have aiming from the sight, but if i feel like it will make a replacement
i want to make a swep so i can have aiming from the sight, but if i feel like it will make a replacement
can you do both just for the heck of it.
maybe maybe, will see cause i'm fairly busy at the moment :( update: isn't going to be that fast in game by the way, c&c?
is this gonna be a swep or a model replacement if swep then good if replacement i want it ti replace the p90.
Looking at the hands, it's obviously meant to be a CS:S replacement. To make a SWEP however it needs to be hexed uniquely from any other game model, and LUA scripted. As for Luchs, the animations are going nicely. This would make a worthy replacement for any of CS:S's many rifles (it's an SMG, but feels like a rifle in view). Your call on which gun to replace, but good job.
I luuuurrrve your animations
cheers guys :D here's a really, crappy version of my reload animation, really not happy with it at the moment, got to tweak it A LOT! lol but tell me what you think anyway: (reload animation i think is by far the trickiest :/ ) ok screw it think I'm ready to start compiling, i will definitely need a hand with how to use lua.. anyone what to point me in the right direction? Anyways i've put together a video of every animation all in one... tell me what you think.
check this shit! lol got the orgin right now, and the muzzle and eject port.. looks ok in game only problem being the fact reload doesn't work properly
The shells are flying to the wrong side though aren't they?
