One fully functional Portal gun was EXTREMELY expensive, as mention in Portal. I seriously doubt it would be economical to give every single gun in the facility Portal technology, not to mention you still need an ammo cache somewhere and that's a bitch I bet they'd rather not manage.

I say that's a pretty good idea, but remember that it wouldn't necessarily need a front grip. Think of the real Portal Gun. It doesn't have a grip, and Chell can hold it just fine.
take out the useless features...like pods that don't do anything. they look ugly too.

I'd rather have it as the overwatch standard, they did use alot of the technology in Portal, like the secondary fire with the disintergration balls.
