Still waiting for badass T-90 model.

The theif model won't come up for me... any ideas on how to correct my stupidity to make me be able to use the Theif model?

Why have to fight with a ragdoll to get into a natural pose when, with a little practice, you can get better results in a fraction of the time. Trust me, when you pose ragdolls in volume, better physics is the only way to go.

Which is why I would prefer a stiffer, more traditional physics model than what the Enhanced Citizens have. I can see how people like it, and I will admit it gives you more flexibility with ragdolls (boneitis), but I've been doing traditional posing since Garry's Mod v6, and as such I've grown deeply into the habits of letting the physics engine put the general pose into place, and then correcting as necessary. Have I ever gotten frustrated at the somewhat unrealistic restraints of the default Source ragdolls, like their inability to wrap their hands around the back of their neck and have their elbows point straight out? Yes, certainly. However, these frustrate me infinitely more. It took me literally over half an hour just to get someone standing ready, with an assault rifle in a two-hand idle position across their stomach. And it was only half an hour because after such time I said fuck it and started playing Morbus instead. With traditional ragdoll physics, I could strike that pose in maybe fifteen minutes, rather than the 40 or so I spent in the aforementioned example. I normally wouldn't bitch about it, but due to the Garry's Mod Lua Wiki down, I can't even make the two posing tools I wanted to make to help rectify this: A pose-reverter and a precision-pose tool.

As someone that's also been posing since v6, I can say it was a [i]huge[/i] adjustment. When you take the time get past that initial stubbornness to relearn what you already know, you will produce better, more natural poses. I've been working with more flexible physics skeletons for the past couple years, and I can do with them in a fraction of the time and with better results then what I could ever do with a standard skeleton. Honestly, when was the last time you had to fight a ragdoll to something so simple as to make them cross their arms, sit in a chair, or hold a rifle grip correctly? How about bend on one knee, cup their hands behind their back, cock their head more then 20 degrees, or even shrug? I'm not saying it's impossible to do these things with a regular ragdoll and some serious extra tools and tricks, but it's way easier with the new physics. I actually did a good bit of posing recently with some older skeletons, and I spent too much time just trying to get them to look believable. I could barely get them to look dynamic, and I had to scrap most of my work. If you take the time to learn the new system, you will be grateful you did. Sure, you can't half-ass background characters anymore, but you really shouldn't be doing that anyway. Besides, most ragdolls released today have similarly enhanced skeletons, there is literally no way to avoid this forever. Just invest some time, and you will get what you put into it.

I don't like the new way, but I don't like the old way either. Why can't you just find a middle ground? Setting everything to [I]maximum elasticity[/I] is just plain lazy.
