ok just a quick test this is not completly 100% rigged it was a tester to see how well the model can be spawned and positioned etc: [IMG]http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/9176/gmconstruct0175.jpg[/IMG] Need to fix a lot of the texturing.

thanks for bumping lol ok I went and bought mw4 mercs so that i had a better way of looking at most of the mecha and realised my madcat was missing a few key parts so i'm currently refixing the mesh: what I have fixed/currently fixing: *Refining the mesh *Added parts to the gun-arms *Pushed out the cockpit more *Pushed out the ledge(underneath the cockpit) further out *reshaped the rocket launchers on the shoulders *Reshaped the gunarms may also consider redoing them I'm thinking of totally redoing the cockpit again and add a few more polys to the overall model and I'm also considering adding various camo's included with this one which is based off the papercraft model [URL=http://img200.imageshack.us/my.php?image=progressp.png][IMG]http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/7316/progressp.th.png[/IMG][/URL] this was a quick mockup i'll try and get better comparisons between the original mesh and the improved one asap on a plus note i'm now hooked too mechwarrior =P

This is a mesh I made about 3 or 4 years ago using a couple 2D schematic images. Used Maya 7, rigged the legs and arms, too. Never made a texture for it, though. [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v110/Eccentricity/madcat_old_final.jpg[/img]

The MadCat's pods are wider than they are tall, but yours are taller than they are wide.

Bump. I'm working on a mad dog (Vulture)! Edit: Blender just crashed, lost all my work... but i am not deterred. [editline]05:38PM[/editline] I'm Going to make it in pieces so that you can put it together anyway you like. I'm gonna get pics up as soon as i have something looking awesome. I'm working on the LRM launchers right now. That is unless someone wants to try and rig it, but i would rather have a mech in pieces because rag dolls move to organically, and mechs aren't organic. Scratch the parts part im not an expert modeler. It may not be that good of a mad dog. But I will try.

THIS ONE IS FOR REAL! mechs aren't suppose to look organic, they are suppose to look like machines. This is a great MW 2 Madcat!
Interesting idea, to put them in parts (might try that if I can get the porting to work at some point, as I can't rig) :) Also it looks quite good (if a bit blocky) ^^
