well, for one, the Japanese Godzilla couldn't be killed by missiles and he never ran away from a fight. GINO's a good monster, but not a good Godzilla. there's a reason why Toho's official name for GINO is "Zilla". most of what Zilla was took out the heart and soul of the Traditional Godzilla movie, which is Godzilla knocking down buildings, unaffected by Humanity's attempts to stop him, but still managing to come out as Humanity's savior when a bigger, badder monster comes out to threaten the world.
that said, GINO's movie was still a good one, as long as you forget that it's supposed to be a Godzilla movie, which it ain't.

the new movie is godzilla versus a smog type-a-creature from mexico to las vegas, i'd say its kind of original, and based on the poster image it seems to be the original big G, cgi or actors i dont know (knowing most movies made here are filled with CG, it wouldnt suprise me)

In fact, when the movie was released in Japan it was marketed not as a Godzilla remake, but as a movie specifically about a Gozilla-like monster in the U.S. that the American's had mistaken for Godzilla. In subsquent Japanese Godzilla movies they even talk about the "Attack on New york" and how the American's were mistaken in thinking it was the same Kaiju that stomped around Tokyo every few years.

I didn't think us Americans even considered it a remake, I mean it was nothing like the original godzilla, story or location wise.
I called it Zilla. And I'm not sure, but I think the original Godzilla was also referenced during the movie, or it was another movie about the original godzilla referencing a "godzilla-like" creature rampaging in New York.
I updated the largest Gino model. Should make the limbs more posable.

no, that WAS going to be a new Godzilla movie for IMAX theaters, but I think it fell through. the guy from Toho who was in charge of the IMAX movie, Yoshimitsu Banno, is going to be in charge of the Legendary Pictures movie, though. so he might ressurect the idea (which I personally wouldn't like) or just make a proper remake of the whole Mythos.

although he could port 1954 Godzilla from Godzilla Unleashed if he could. IIRC, they had 1954-G, 1990-G, and 2000-G. but there's no resource I know of from which he could port Clovie.

some guy i knew tried but he only managed to get the sound fils from the game and not any models so he gave up
