It works for me now. By the way, why did you leave out the Board rider leader and his boar? And another question, can you make a model pack that includes Link's swords, shields, and dungeon items along with Zelda and Link for Zelda poses? I need a decent shield and sword, items, and more characters fir my HL2 and Zelda crossover, so please?
I didn't do zelda and company because ??unknown?? was doing major characters such as zelda, midna, etc. About the boar rider, i didn't have the model, and i have moved on to another project. Sorry.
I wonder how high poly wind waker models are. They are quite round, but seem to have visible polys at the same time. Cannot wait for Wii Zelda. Oh yeah, the models are awesomeness. Where are people going to be posting their posed scene thingies?
Speaking of the Wind Waker, I guess this is an unofficial announcement of my next project. 2 models are up and running. Phantom Ganon is now shaded correctly, which ironically means he's not shaded at all. Link has me concerned. Not only do i believe it's impossible to achieve cell shading, but his hair is in the way of his eyes and eyebrows. In the game, his eyes and eyebrows were shown right through his hair, no matter the angle. Any information on how to achieve either of these effects would be more than useful. Edit:
Really nice work, I wish people would do this with other games. :(
Your wish is my lunch. :v:
okay, time to re-rig and make player models. I'm doing zant. I will post it up on this thread when I'm done.
okay, time to re-rig and make player models. I'm doing zant. I will post it up on this thread when I'm done.
A Zant player model!? :excited:
A Zant player model!? :excited:
yes.
Not only do i believe it's impossible to achieve cell shading, but his hair is in the way of his eyes and eyebrows. In the game, his eyes and eyebrows were shown right through his hair, no matter the angle.
That always confused me. Pitch black eyebrows, bright yellow hair, and apparently black eyebrows showing through the blond hair. Oh well, none of it even looked like hair, more like a glob of paint. To me every character model looked like a solid glob of multicolored paint. And the ocean! I half expected link (I don't capitalize wind waker link :D) to wade out of the ocean covered in blue and white paint up to his waist. Or mid-part, dunno what its called for non humans.
Well you know what? To me i saw Wind Waker as a underestimated masterpiece consisting of unsurpassed originality and beauty. To me the Wind Waker took place in a magical world full of mystical characters and a compelling story which forever bridged the gap in the Zelda storyline. It forever changed my view on how important having your own unique style is, and that no matter what, what you do is right for you, and weather people like it or not, is just a matter of taste... Or ignorance. However you see it, i will always support the Wind Waker, and any wanker who thinks otherwise shall be forever maliced with a shoe horn! So you know what i have to say to those people!? Meh.
If you or anyone can do these models, I would be pleased. And yes, release them in a pack together. Ordon Sword Master Sword Ordon Shield Hylian Shield Gale Boomerang Bow and Arrow (One with bow and arrow without arrow, one with arrow, and just an arrow) Clawshot Spinner Ball and Chain (Make it like a ragdoll, the chain part, so it can be posed being picked up, thrown, etc) Dominion Rod Link Ragdoll Zelda Ragodll Ganon Ragdoll (Not Ganondorf, Ganon, Ganondorfs pig form) Yes, all of those, if it's not too hard. Anyone, please?

Wind Waker was faaar better than Twilight Princess in my opinion, because I liked it's unique story line and the graphics. I also loved to sail in the game, whenever I could just warp to a place, I would sail there. best fucking game in the world. once your done your pack for Wind Waker, Ima play gmod for hours on end with the models.
Like i said, before i continue, 2 questions. 1. Is it even remotely possible to achieve cell shading in the source engine? I happen to know there was a "cartoon" style naruto model at one point, but i've never seen a picture of it, so have no clue if it uses cell shading. 2. Is there a command that can be added to a texture which allows one texture to indefinitely show through another texture? As in, one texture is behind another, yet it shows through. I've actually had this occur as a glitch on certain rare occasions, but don't know how to control that glitch to my liking.
yeah, you can. if you look at fpsbanana's toon skins, they look like cel shaded models. maybe you can learn a thing or two from there.
yeah, you can. if you look at fpsbanana's toon skins, they look like cel shaded models. maybe you can learn a thing or two from there.
Eh there not cell shaded i just found, there plain old regular models, the only difference is that they use the same trick that phantom ganon uses to gain an outline, only black. And most of the models their use this trick very badly. What i need is full out cell shaded LIGHTING AFFECTS where there is only 2 degrees of shading, and it's done in an arc like way as in the game. I highly doubt that without special LUA or other coding knowledge, that this feet would ever be conceivable in source.
Garry said that he's working with cell shading, but it won't be in for awhile.
I messed around with cellshading. Although it won’t be in any time soon. There’s a couple of problems right now.
Source: http://www.garry.tv/?p=255
Be very careful not to rely on mob mentality: "you disagree with me, therefore you are an idiot and obviously wrong. As long as more people agree with me than you, then we will beat you up unless you agree with us." That's exactly what every totalitarian regime in history has done. Disagree with Nazis or Communists? Better like being deported to a concentration camp. I happen to be physically larger than most people, but I would never intimidate them with violence in an argument or debate. Doing that can kill your reputation in the real world. Out here in the internet it is obviously meaningless, but I am just telling you why it's not a good idea in reality, might come in handy for you guys some day. The things I opposed most that Miyamoto said regarding wind waker was the stuff about how realism did not make a realistic world. He gave the example of a character running into a wall, how if not done properly the game world would not seem realistic. But to me so many things in wind waker violate everything from physics to light (his eyebrows showing through hair), that the world simply felt like a game. Ocarina of Time felt like an adventure to me, wind waker felt like a game. Don't assume that everyone who dislikes wind waker is a "graphics whore" or thinks it is too easy. Well, I think it was too easy, but I thought TP was too easy as well, so no biggie there. Adding difficulty levels would be so easy, hell I could probably code that if you gave me half an hour with whatever Zelda code is based on. EDIT: Wow, Wind waker was pretty low poly by the looks of it. That explains the high framerate, although TP was smooth as well.
1. Never said you were a graphic whore. 2. Wind Waker immersed me more than TP, it's not about experiencing real life, it's about getting AWAY from real life that is important. 3.OoT was great but is getting old, And TP just felt like OoT all over again, and i wasn't impressed. 4. check out a TP wire frame some time, considering they're both Gamecube games, they have about an equivalent amount of polies. Don't forget Wind Waker link has much less detail, hence the graphical style.
Oh I'm not saying you did this, I'm just saying it in general. Many wind waker guys act as if they are enlightened and wind waker's unorthodox graphics automatically make it more beautiful, more artistic. What if I think TP is more artistic? But TP's realistic, so its automtically not profound art, unlike wind waker to some people. I have no problem with a game concept unless it's something I can do legally in real life. Driving a tank or flying a F-15? Sure it's technically possible, but I can't do it anytime soon. Playing football? I could do that in reality whenever the heck I wanted, with the best frame rate and poly count ever :D. That's why I think sport games and the like are useless and pointless. This includes wii sports. Why the hell would I want to play tennis with a wiimote? It's more fun with a tennis racket... same deal for bowling, golf, anything really. If I could grab a sword and go out to Hyrule , i'd do that too, of course given that there's no risk of actual death or injury :D The thing about Zelda and Lord of the Rings for me is that they both feel real.... the first time I watched Fellowship, it was just incredible, the world was totally real. If Frodo had suddenly started chucking fireballs, the whole world would have gone out the window. That is the equivalent for me of wind waker link's eyebrows going through his eyes, or wind waker link hopping 10 feet in the air to fly around the back of an enemy. The world just seemed completely false and constructed to be that way. Bright colors were there because the texture artists put them there. I certainly never felt that way about Oot or even TP. "Hardcore" Zelda fans are split on wind waker/ TP, although with casual fans, sales show that cel shading is far less popular, whether this be good or ill. If I liked wind waker style 100 times more, I would accept that making further wind waker console zeldas could kill the franchise. Aonuma spoke about how worried he was that WW and FS had killed the franchise, and that returning to TP saved it. And TP doesn't even have great sales in Japan. Nintendo considers all of this of course.
Good god there are LOADS of enemys missing in this pack!
Good god there are LOADS of enemies missing in this pack!
I never said i did everything, look at the description, it reads A NUMBER. Not All.
Does anybody know a link to get Link and other characters ragdolls for gmod. It will make the perfect combination to this pack. Great work on this pack, I can't wait for any new stuff. (wind waker, etc)
I liked TP more because of the Wii aiming system and it's storyline. :excited:
Can anyone make those models for me? And I added one more onto that list.
I have no idea what is causing this error, maybe it is my graphics card? My computer is brand new.
:( Want spawn codes. I'm too lazy to do them myself and I don't expect anyone else to do it either.
Holy crap! That's what I call a worthwhile download! P.s. I hated the skullkid portions of the game...
:( Want spawn codes. I'm too lazy to do them myself and I don't expect anyone else to do it either.
Did you read the very first post? Spawn codes are included.
Did you read the very first post? Spawn codes are included.
No they aren't. :( EDIT: Well they are but they are in a super fucked up format.
