Strange, this is what dragoshi was asking about as well, couldn't really figure how to convert the pmd, unless someone willing to explain how that's done?
Strange, this is what dragoshi was asking about as well, couldn't really figure how to convert the pmd, unless someone willing to explain how that's done?
Found a blender script for it: http://sites.google.com/site/mikumikubeat/makemodel (Darn, site comes up with server errors when I try and download it). Also found an import script for DAZ Studio which apparently can export to .obj (Source: http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=42376) But having trouble finding scipts for anything else to import them.
Thanks for help Silver Spirit. I hope I can achiever something. There are actually some nice models that could be used for some good. Makes me wonder how a FPS danmaku (bullet hell) game would work.
Thanks for help Silver Spirit.
np :D If you find any importer/exporter scripts for other programs or a converter let me know so I can let others know ^^
Will do. I did finally find the taller/slightly older looking Flandre model. I'll see what I can do, can't promise anything though. Off topic: I take it you're a Touhou fan, or kind of?
Off topic: I take it you're a Touhou fan, or kind of?
Not particually, I just like anime :D (and I like to help out where I can with things :P)

Ok, I figured out how to export the model into the .x format using the PMD editor. Now my problem is installing this .x importer plug in he gave. Now forgive me for my stupidity, but how do I go by doing this?

Alright here is the PMD editor download site: http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=1&eotf=1&u=http://www6.atwiki.jp/vpvpwiki/pages/222.html&sl=auto&tl=en Also, I did manage to get the import to work correctly. I just have to figure out how to get the textures to show up (I always seem to have this trouble, but then again, I always make some kind of a stupid mistake). Here is my example of the taller Flandre I imported into 3D Max. Edit: Quickly doing this I noticed one odd thing about it. It seems to have mirrored the model. What I mean is, her little off ponytail and ribbon on the hat should be on the right and not on the left as shown. I'll have to see how I can fix that. Anyway, if anyone else wants to help, by all means do so.
none of the links work from that site to dl the pmd editor, can you upload yours?
It works. Download the 6.3 version. Once you get the 403 error, go into the address bar and press enter and the download will appear. I know that's really odd, but that's how it's done. Also, I still haven't fixed the mirror error yet. It's really annoying.

Look above silly. Once you get the 403 page, go to the address bar and press enter. The download will pop out and allow you to download it. I know it's weird but that's how it works.

It's ok, just saying so it would help out. Beware though, the PMD editor is in Japanese. Best of luck to you.

Well all you have to use the PMD editor is to export the model as a X file so that the X importer script can get it into 3D Max
Well all you have to use the PMD editor is to export the model as a X file so that the X importer script can get it into 3D Max
Oh well, I don't have 3Dmax anyway and Milkshape doesn't seem to have .x import.
There's another method with Blender and DAZ studio to get them into other formats. I might use these methods if I can't ever fix this awkward mirrored model problem.
There's another method with Blender and DAZ studio to get them into other formats. Also I posted the other methods :P
A mirror by axis function. Does this simply mirror the model and not distort anything? If so, then this is an easy fix and just have to figure out my stupid texture importing problem.
A mirror by axis function. Does this simply mirror the model and not distort anything? Ah, thanks for the advice, I'll see what I can do. Blasted texture problem. I hope I don't have to install more scripts/plugins than I need to. Edit: I found it and can mirror it. Kind of odd how that does that but now that problem is fixed for now.
How much polys does Flandre have? On a less serious note, could it be possible for someone to get a yukkuri model?
I have no idea how to check for that. If you can tell me, I'll gladly tell you. Also, the yukkuri are the odd head things. If so, then yes, as there is a Marisa and Reimu one. Be the same method. I don't have their miku dance models though.
Just press 7 and a small bit of yellow text will appear.
Any idea when we should expect the next bit of progress?
Thanks for the tip SakuraX. I found out this Flandre model has 14,572 polys and 10.844 verts. I'm not sure what Source's limit is, but that doesn't sound like that model will break it. Also, the next bit of progress will come when I can figure out how to get the textures to show up. Anyone willing to give me advice is much appreciated (I seem to have this trouble with anything I import even when they have rigging and textures with the model). So again, if anyone can help me here, please don't hesitate. Edit: It shouldn't matter if I don't have the textures and SMD files in the import folder of 3D Max right? If not, then that might be what I'm doing wrong.
14k should be fine ^^
