Decided I needed to model something since I don't model 'things' that often, so I started on my monitor.

H&K MP5?
I have a problem in 3DS Max and some other programs:

Basically it seems like the program is under the impression that the resolution is higher than it really is and I can't see all of my modifiers and the options below. Anyone have any idea how to fix it?

Nice looking, are those handguards based off the old slimline version? I know the magazines are from the early models.

I think the forms are similar enough so that I could swap the furnitures out with a texture / normal switch if you really want

How can I download a trial or non-malicious free version of 3DSmax for 32 bit? The trial on the official site is only for 64-bit rofl

I think that the last version of 3DS Max available in 32-bit is 2013, Autodesk have stopped developing 32-bit versions of their software now. You may be able to get an education version which is free by registering on their website. You have to be a student though.
http://www.autodesk.co.uk/adsk/servlet/pc/index?siteID=452932&id=17804503 Once you've registered you have the option to download any version from 2012 to 2015.

3DS Max 2012 still has a 32-bit version as well, iirc. I recently had to sign up for another student copy of 2012, and I managed to download a 32-bit installer.
Quick torch off my desk to practice knurling

Perhaps one day, in the far distant future, my desk will run dry of interesting objects
today is not that day

How did you do the knurling? Did you create a single diamond and duplicate it around the circumference of the torch multiple times?

Here's an update.
Still working on the bike but uh I made a hand trolley. Still need to make a low poly but that should be easy considering most of this was made from a low polyish model. I maaayyy add some circular holes in the handle part. Anything jarring from this?

Shouldn't the handlebar be positioned on the purple/green area for easier maneuvarbility?

Needs vertical, curved connecting bars along the inside of the pipe, as well as supports that go from the pipe to the wheels (like so)

no; you have better leverage this way.
In the home stretch now:

I added the control modules (not pictured) plus a few more physical knobs and buttons. I just have to finish work on those + the interfaces and it'll be done.

Very Nice mate! What's next on the Sci-fi list?

Asset conversion to UE4 mostly. Also, I've started work on a large scale ship, but is still really in the blocky phase.

Bonus, a configuration I've wanted to make since I first modeled out the basic shape:

Is this 'large scale ship' going to be a map or a massive prop?

skybox prop for sure, not sure I'd even want to think about making a full interior
