You really shouldn't be using Sketchfab for rendering previews.
10k tri's, 2k maps.
What's with the random bowie knife taped to the side? that seems pointless.
What's with the random bowie knife taped to the side? that seems pointless.
I think it's meant to be some sort of handguard/foregrip.
It's so it's easily accessible? Just pull it out the sheath and there you go it's a knife.
What's with the random bowie knife taped to the side? that seems pointless.
If you look at the concept it has a can which was cut in half and placed under it, it would be incredibly hard to get it to look right, plus, since it's metal it would conduct heat like crazy, I put the knife there because it offered a CQC option and leather doesn't conduct as fast as metal. It also gave the bandages something to do, otherwise people would complain they're pointlessly wrapped around it doing nothing. After weeks if not months of being stuck in a rut and not being able to do focus on doing anything, i finally managed to stop being depressed and finish the texture for one of my bayonets. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9988278/ports/M16_2013/2014/Bayonet_M7_WIP5.jpg[/t] Next up: The sheath, then the other knife and sheath. Hopefully the UVs on the other knife's grip and sheath aren't as shitty as this one's.
hi there any ways to fix the smooth?
hi there any ways to fix the smooth?
more geo [sp]post wires[/sp]
wires high poly: low poly:

Now it looks better, thanks John. But how to make it smoother on the ends of the tube
Chamfber?
wires high poly: low poly:
you have a bunch of tris in the corners there which may be what is causing the issue. note the method john showed you doesn't have any.
well, it's still a problem
afaik the metal generally stays cool with burners because it's all being directed away by the escaping gas. don't think i've ever actually touched one when it was on though.
But it's a completely improvised flamethrower made from connected pipe parts, who knows what might heat up, it's not exactly going to have effective heatsinks.
well, it's still a problem
Try turbosmoothing by smoothing groups, then if you need softer edges you can try chamfbering the hard edges.
was curious so I tried myself, here's the result:
Can anyone help me wrap my head around modeling unique interiors of houses/buildings for an engine like UE4? Especially when I go to unwrap the model and texture it, how would I get a constant scale for my textures on the walls of different lengths?
@azgag thank you so much, it realy helped
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9988278/ports/M16_2013/2014/Bayonet_M7_WIP8.jpg[/t] I think i'm going to redo the bayonet handle's texture once i'm done with the sheath. I also wish i'd actually modelled the hole in the end, but oh well.
I'm going to be really innovative here and make a model of a gun Still got some weird bits though Also I don't actually know what this is Could be fictional for all I know about revolvers
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9988278/ports/M16_2013/2014/Bayonet_M7_WIP11.jpg[/t] Bayonet & sheath #1 base textures complete. I am very happy with how this turned out. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9988278/ports/M16_2013/2014/Bayonets_WIP3.jpg[/t] Second bayonet textured. One more sheath then i can do the shaders. Then they'll be ready to stab communists/arabs/asians with.
Does anyone know why when rendering in 3ds max my scene is super bright? I dont have any lights in the scene. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4112921/Toobright.jpg[/t]
check your rendering settings. and you do have a light, it's the default camera light(s).
check your rendering settings. and you do have a light, it's the default camera light(s).
I haven't changed any settings, and by no light I meant no added light. Been fooling around to learn how to make interiors.
