[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1157653/work/fraaaaaaaaaaaag.jpg[/t] compiled! i'm totally going to work on the materials later though (mostly on the wear - i think some subtle scratches along with the hard paint chips would look neat) but after that i'm going to do them in this order: -crowbar -(everything else : suggestions ?) -rpg -gravity gun -ar2 -pheropod (maybe. probably not) if you want to see a specific weapon done quicker then post em here
Pheropod.

It is a decently high triangle count thanks to the wires...But this was more a portfolio piece so I think I can get away with it. And P3D Electric Box (View in 3D)
I meant his college program :v:
Computer games design at Newport, UK.
Computer games design at Newport, UK.
Reason I asked, I got shafted on mine. I go to one of the Art Institutes here in America. Private colleges are a piece of shit. My first intro to modeling class, the PROFESSOR told us to take a screen shot of our UV and photoshop out everything else...we showed him how to render it. I have a million and one other stories like that of how incompetent our teachers are.

Hell, one of them used to work for Dice.

We only have 2 Game Art teachers, neither of them have actually worked on games, one of them doesn't even play games, and he's the one who teaches the starter classes! He works completely in splines. He made an arcade cabinet recently that has a 192 sided engon. He didn't even know what an engon was!! Holy hell, when i'm done with school here I plan on writing a pretty long review of this school and I will post it on facepunch, but that will be about a year or so. All in all, I'm paying $60,000 to teach myself.

The teachers themselves are pretty cool too, like people you would want on your steam friends list. Seriously, AI Pittsburgh is pretty great. Even though the reviews from many are bad, it's because they never put fourth any effort. They expected the school to hand them everything including a job.

No doubt it requires hard work and time, BUT when I'm paying $60,000 for a teacher who hardly knows how to model and the older students have to essentially re teach the new students how to model. And for the other teacher knowing how to model and texture but can't teach worth a damn. All the stuff I've posted in the past few years has been all self taught, these teachers have not done anything for helping me besides giving me assignments.
I wanted to go to the AI school in North Vancouver here in BC but its pretty expensive and my dad thinks its a scam :\ I went to it for a week for some work experience thing and I enjoyed every moment of it. I got to meet people who has more or less the same things in common.

We didn't do any work for the next five weeks and as a result no one passed because it turn into basic computer course.
Speaking of which, it's been awhile since I posted anything. I think i'll contribute!
I like the look of the box, it feels old and beaten and is well textured, but the main thing that bugs me is that it has like a latch at the end on the door but it doesn't connect to any locking mechanism. That and the front of the panel, although completely unseen when open, is completely flat despite having gauges bolted to it that should be sticking out the other side. Also, I never took any art modeling classes, but I did take classes on writing rendering and physics simulation engines using openGL/C++. Does that count? :v:
Hertsfordshire University in the UK seems to be absolutely phenomenal in terms of schooling. They're ranked in the top 4 globally and the teachers have to have had worked in the industry, I think one of them worked for WETA for 10 years.
How would I go about making something like this?
