Forgive me for asking this, but what exactly is that?
It's a cylindrical corridor of cryo-tubes for a short film I'm working on. The single pieces its composed of are in a wip shot on the last page. The bottom and top thirds are 1/24 of a circle at 15 degrees of rotation per section. The center is 1/4th, at 90 degrees. They fit together seamlessly, creating the tube in those shots.
The first 2 screenshots make it look like it'd make for a perfect core, er, corridor as well.

I love watching you progress as a modeller, you just keep getting better and better.
Trying to practice normal mapping still, gotta work on the shading a lot still but its a fun experiment!

do you have to select like this before checker or am I missing something?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/mpJyT0P.png[/t]
Select a polygon in a corner and then press "Checker" until it reaches across the object. You can set "Checker" to a shortcut and just press it until it spreads all the way across. To find "Checker" go to Customize User Interface > Group: Main UI > Category: PolyTools.
I've always assumed there was a shortcut to select specific patterns, I just never knew where it was in max. Thanks for the tip!
Max would be well served if it had one of those 90's era 'Startup tip of the day' splash screens imo.

i think it does. i think it's always the same 40ish tips though. i disabled it in 2010 and haven't seen it in 2015 though.

I learn something new everday. Thanks man!
This thread seems to be getting drowned, here's some content:
dDo output of a chair I made today. It's a little low in actual detail but I'm operating on a super tight deadline and I've got a week to make a whole interior environment, including some tricky LOD work. At this point, it'll just take a few more steps and some modification to un-dDo it/convert it to source.

I'll finish that military locker once I figure out how to best do the rolling door. In the meantime all I see are faces.

The aerodynamics are a little iffy, what with 80% of the air displacement being blocked by a big ol' box. I know it's TF2 but you might want to consider the overall design a little more and.or pull up some relevant references.
Make it like a quadrocopter
a lot of stuff is missing, just a test render.
