I've re-textured this revolver a made a little while ago. Much happier with it now. Although I think I'm going to redo the handle.

Alright, finished the major architectural models for my scene, now the hard part - fill empty spaces and actually use it in animation.

I haven't seen many HK53 on this board, or in 3D modeling in general, so I decided that I would like to change that a bit.

So, what do you guys think?
A G53 with a solid stock? Impressive. Haven't seen that design before.
A G53 with a solid stock? Impressive. Haven't seen that design before.
I did that as a test, and I think it looks really cool with a solid stock. I got the idea from modified HK53 with solid stocks that are sold here in Germany as semi-auto hunting rifles. Because of German gun laws, rifles are not allowed to be under a certain length, so for the HK53 they made the gun only take solid stocks.
a thing

Looks creepy. Gorgeous texture.

Although the knee and elbow joints could use a bit more definition.
Finally found the time to get some work done on this door.

What's the best way to get a quick hand at mudbox? any good tutorials out there?

I would consider this probably my first actual high poly model. Now I get to make the low poly and try my hand at baking.

quixels are for ~nerds~ (disclaimer I used dDo to make the ambient occlusion but that's it)

I've never done one of these before, so I figured I would try it out:

Could use some advice here.
I'm working on an asset, and I've just about finished, but after I turned on smoothing groups and this happened.
Before smooth

After smooth

Any idea of what's going on here?
Check your smooth group angle limit. I usually set mine to 23 degrees. And whats wrong with being nerds?
Yeah, your auto-smooth is putting everything on the same smoothing group. You can reduce the angle or, preferably, define them yourself.
Remember, smoothing groups are a way to define a single, continuous surface. A hard edge where faces meet means that the two faces of the edge need different smoothing groups where they touch.
i'm done with this dod. no dicks this time either, I'M SO SORRY GUYS.

Thought doing an endless number of ports would teach me how to model
it didn't
i dare you to critique my first model ever :suicide:
It's very HL: get out of here, gordon; get out of here, gordon edition looking

It almost makes me nostalgic. It might not be current gen, but it could find a home in a mobile game.

Zero clue what I'm going to do with all these models when I'm done but I'll find something, maybe throw them in a gmod props pack.
I like them! good props are very underrated imo. May I inquire where the map is located and is it source or what? (can I used them if it is in source?)
Hi, cheers Stiffy360 for the interest I appreciate it, yeah the models are not finished yet. Some props need redone textures, collision meshes, edge loop fixes. Some need to be exported as whole models but also as modular parts. None has made it to source yet. Some have multiple skins and some have LOD that need to be created. I am sorry the work is far from done. At the moment it is just me working on my map, working on these basic props. It is a learning process for me as well, all these things together, is why it is taking very long.
There is no posted complete map as it is not finished either, as prop creation is taking a long time. I do want these usable in source as they are for my HL2 EP2 map. Sure when all is finished you can use these props just let me know. They are basic models though many models are whole and specific to my level but the plan is that many will be modular so that will give much more variation and usability.
I recently created 3 pipesets
