Unless you're modelling off some exotic proportioned toilets, I'd recommend you just start using references.
Most toilets don't have such sharp edges like that.

I'm not sure how to approach shapes like this, should I draw out the curved edges first? I was having trouble manipulating a cube because I only knew how to use bevel

MassFX In 3DSMax 2012, I think
I remember doing it in a scary newer version of 3dsmax that I don't use, so I'm pretty sure that was it
It was super easy if I recall, just told what bits where solid or not, made the popup bit a keyframe solid and the rest sorted itself out
Amazingly, once converted to .smd, it automagically turned the baked frame animation into a skeletal animation so it would actually work, which was lovely

I'd just throw in the following settings under mass anyway, just to be safe.

$damping 0.00
$rotdamping 0.00
Also, it might not be generating one if the model is very small, as in a few cm/inches ingame.

The mouth is a little weird. The corners are very rounded, which will likely make it difficult to rig and look good. I think you should keep some of the roundness but have a noticeable crease where the mouth ends when it's closed.
