That's really nice. Is it completely your own design?
It's inspired by some Winchester single shot rifles I've seen like the M1902, Hotchkiss and M67A, but I made it mostly off the top of my head. I also imagined some sort of military purpose for it so I thought of it in some sort of alt history setting in the Old West or Crimean War. I also have the high poly finished now. Should I post it?

I've been modeling my personal female heroine character which is heavily influenced by The Last of Us, PS3 game. She's going to have some clothes later on, after I've retopologized my sculpt for the nude version first. I'll give her a crossbow and an arrow, as a weapon. ^^ Going to model them by myself as well. After that last WIP state, I modeled her hand... twice. Was pretty frustrating. Took approximately 8 hours to model the hand twice. The first version was topologically right and damn good too, but BIG problems appeared when I was trying connect the hand to the wrist... too many vertices and I wasn't able to fix that even with diamond quads. *duh* So, with another try I was able to create a hand with prefectly matching vertices to the wrist, but damn... I have one fucking triangle on the tip of the thumb, and there weren't good ways to terminate it... except modeling the hand AGAIN, but I'm not sure do I want to model it third time right away. The model itself is about a bit over 7000 polygons, WITHOUT hair, the inner mouth and teeth, eyes and feet. When subdividing, it's already about 30000 polys. I still could keep the hair, gums and eyes pretty low poly, since they aren't going to be connected to the body mesh... IF I'm going to subdivide the whole body, to get rid of the triangle and overall blockyness. One question: If I rig and weightmap the low poly version, can I still get a decent rig and wightmapped areas when applying the subdivision surface to the weightmapped low poly mesh? I tried a hand at making my bed for some Second Life Marketplace stuff. [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/ArJMMLN.jpg[/IMG] Obviously that side grain is going to have to go. Max map size for SL is 1024^2 so noise isn't going to cut it. I still need to make my third pillow.

This is actually like my 3rd time making this same gun after seeing the tutorial, a few reasons to do this was because I didn't like quite a few errors with the highpoly in the other ones due to my inexperience and I want to practice some new baking ideas. Since I already have a lot of experience with this specific gun after making it multiple I could finish it without running into any bumps so I can get straight to my baking process. anyways here's an update for anyone who wants to see it although I didn't change much.
