my wip of mp7

I managed to open max and make, unwrap, and texture a quick model today. Not sure what I'm going to use it for but I made it. I might use it as a component of another model so I didn't go crazy with the texture.

Not forgetting the green shoes, they're also pretty cool
So I decided to use that speaker to make a radio. I'm going to hash out some internals as well, so today, batteries! I'm going to make the end product rigged to bones and stuff for SFM, it'll be a hero prop for machinima, at least that's how it's playing out in my head.

AKLACHARGE +, for all your off-brand powering needs!
Doing some stuff in SFM for a English project based on a research paper which I got an A- on. I'm needing some props of some basic stuff so I cracked out 3ds max.

Why did you model a pink save button?
Sorry for it not having any textures, and being a basic screen cap, but I thought it looked pretty good.
Mountains I did in Mudbox:
Why did you model a pink save button?
I have yet to texture them, they will be given only basic colors that are needed for them to be recognized. I could leave it that color if I really wanted to.
Why did you model a pink save button?
pink is where its at
Made some rocks in mudbox, then threw into max, then exported to UDK

That pink save button reminded me that I made a blue save button a long time ago. I want to post it again because it is one of my favorite things I've made.

Was also one of the first models I baked, though. Very sloppy in some places, I'd like to make a cleaner version one day.

Can I ask how you did the indents in that stuff? I always have troubles with that sort of stuff as I don't want to model it onto the high yet the floating geometry doesn't seem to work well with cages.
Damn that looks nice.
Okay so I am noticing a trend with my latest models, I can't for the life of me think as of what could be causing it. All I can say is it looks something like this, and its plaguing my recent models

Anybody got any idea? I have a work around known which I figured out a couple minutes ago but I would like to get this sorted out for the future.

Looks like I just used boolean. Like I said, very sloppy. I think that John117 guy mentioned a good way of doing indents, but I forgot what it was. AVERT YOUR EYES!

Huh? What's the problem?
The sides are not aligned correctly. This is a screenshot of my viewport when I went to the corner.

Is your front view perfectly at the front? Press 'F' or hit the little box that says front

That seemed to have resolved it, thanks man!
Almost finished the modelling part of my second weapon, I'm still a bit new to unwrapping though, this being my 6th model, but only my 2nd time unwrapping. Any particularly important tips when it comes to unwrapping/texturing in mudbox?

Floaters!
If you have a lot of fat in your diet, you get floaters.
Hard drive and Solid State Drive (Solid State still w.i.p.)
