I'm on 32bit and this won't render for me, lame, hopefully I can use a friend's PC to render it when I'm back in Uni after this Sunday.
Here's some wires in the meantime, 2 screws are missing from the side of the EOLAD because I'm remaking them.

I like it but wow are those logos and dimples on the forward grip all modeled out? I can only wonder why it won't render.
Oh new page, here's some content. I made a little shuttle that fits with my containers, here's possibly the worst renders ever done in max.
[t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/21161113/random/shuttle_renders.jpg[/t]
Dimples are floating geo, the logos/text were modelled in at first but now they're also floating.
It won't render because my PC can't access enough RAM, 32bit Vista caps at 3/4GB, so basically I need a new OS and some more RAM.
:(
I decided to investigate animation and how bones/joints work in maya. Now I understand better why it takes so long, it's an incredible ant work if you want to do something that looks good.
I ended up making this crappy thing based on a v_shotgun model. Digital-Tutors seem to have some pretty nice stuff for maya so I'll likely sub soon.

Thats probably the best grenade I've ever seen. Its sexy!
Hmmm, why have't anyone made a grenade prop with bodygrouped pin and lever? Not requesting anything, just saying its's something I havent seen done yet.

If you want the file I can send it to you if you want to bodygroup it. I'll probably need to touch it up a bit.
Wall worm has decided to co operate even though I have yet to update to the new version (Due to me being stubborn). Have a badly textured magnetic tape.
It does the job though, not like I will lose marks in class for poorly texturing something, even if its my not strong point I really should work on it.

Floppy drive is ding dong done.

That's really blue.
not to mention there's no texture to your... erm, texture.
I can return to fix the texture another day, I have a school project I need to finish and I really needed to get this colored and put in sfm.
A couple renders from me to show off my rebuild.

Here's something I've been working on for the Infra mod:
[t]http://files.1337upload.net/02_01.jpg[/t][t]http://files.1337upload.net/02_02.jpg[/t]
[t]http://files.1337upload.net/02_03.jpg[/t][t]http://files.1337upload.net/02_04.jpg[/t]
Still heavy wip.
While everyone else is making amazing models I'm busy learning to make trees.
How's my first one look? Still needs work.

Unreal can make anything look pretty

it looks nice but the plane cards are really obvious, maybe add a bit more to break the silhouette (unless this is for far-way assets)

I tweaked the shading a bit so It's not as obvious anymore, but it still looks like crap because it's a bad model :P

That an Audi? Very nice sculpture of the model. Are you going to do the interior as well?
Hi, sorry for asking question here (didnt found a Modeling question post)
1
What program can i use to start modeling for source engine with a very low budget?
2
Where can i found Good tutorials since i have no knowledge at all about modeling? I really want to learn!
Thanks you!

ty sir, it's currently at ~6million tris and there's still a lot of details that need to be modeled, once that's done I can bake everything on the lowpoly then make the interior.

1- It depends, Autodesk has an academic program that lets people use most of their softwares for free for 5 years, see if you school/uni has it.
2- Digital Tutors has (a shit load of) really nice tutorials on most of the popular 3D and 2D softwares, tho it's subscription based but it's worth it. Other than that you can probably find any kind of tutorials on Youtube or something.

i guess either p3d or .obj has something against smooth so i'll probably have to redo the trigger/handle
tried to learn texturing earlier, that was a catastrophe
Here's some stuff I made for Overkill 2 a few months back.
Check it out, it's free for both Android and iOS devices.

I also made a Mac11, but I'm not sure if it's textured yet, nor if/when it will be available in-game.

Looks like some of your normals are flipped there.

This was one of my first attempts at making modular pieces for environments. Although I did it a while ago, I think that I want to build more parts and make a fully realized, small environment. Any thoughts, comments, or critique on the design or whatever would be really appreciated. Thanks!
