Update Notes: Added some manuvering vane panels inside the exhaust nozzle cone for thrust vectoring, as well as added a manuverable nozzle assembly for additional manuverability. It only has 14 degrees of angle though, but thats enough to get some serious umph. Changed the design of the turret around, completely duplicated something I saw elsewhere. The barrels are fluted, and have a triangular shroud to prevent barrel whip when fired. The box things on top of the turret proper are canister tubes, for things like smoke, HE, various drones and rescue equipment. (Inflatable rafts for water rescue.)
Additional notes: The 1x2x6 block on the last shows an average human sized scale reference.
That is coming along very nicely.
WIP. A prize to whoever can identify it.

looks like a prawn from district 9
or that one nightmare I get about being trapped on a spaceship, either way it looks exceptional.

Wow, that's awesome! are you using a reference?

Please quit wasting our time and get recruited by a games company.

Only reference I use is the size reference. :D

Jebus, I want your imagination.
any who, some scribbles today before I head off to my family for thanksgiving.
I wanted to practice some dynamic texture creation and making it tile correctly

kind of reminds me of a Genestealer.
All this work is making me jealous, since I don't know a single thing about modeling.

Then learn. Once you overcome that first hurdle of getting into it, and getting to grips with it, it's a skill for life. You just need to get good after that.
I might start making a series of tutorials introducing people to modeling. I'll start with 3DS Max and guide people who have never done anything or have minimal experience.

Not sure if it's just the angle, but it seems as though the width needs some adjustments. It doesn't look thick enough.
Other than that, really nice likeness.

It was pretty much some updating of FBX and some stupid check box stuff in various programs.

I can only hope to be as good as you in 2 years then. Keep it up.
For some reason I'm having hard time modeling hard surface models, but organic ones feel so easy to do, such as human beings. :D

man I'm the opposite, hard surface is ezpz. I'd kill to be able to organic model.
Believe it or not, but I just started actually doing work for Uni
We all have to make a WW2 Tank of our choosing as a long term project, so naturally I'm blitzing through it so I can have more time to sleep later down the line
Went for a T-34 because they're so rare and have never been in a game before ever and I'm just so original

Need to find a better way to make the track mesh deform along the track spline, I'm pretty sure metal doesn't bend like that

I think 3ds Max has a way to automatically position objects along a spline or something, you could try separating the track pieces and doing that.
not only does the metal not bend like that but if you were to ever try and animate it you'd end up with some weird stuff because the end pieces are longer then the rest and curved.
i don't remember the specifics but i know you can animate something through a spline cage. i saw an example once with a water fall but it should work pretty well here. you move the object and it automatically follow the inside of the cage.
If you're using 3DS Max try Tools > Align > Spacing Tool. It clones an object and makes it follow a path without deformation.

it looks great but i think you can definitely afford to tighten up the edges on the main body

if you use Maya, there's a nice script that lets you duplicate an object along a curve, it's great when making tank treads or non-straight pipes.
