We've finally set up a Facebook page for the game I'm working on with two other people, if you're interested I'd appreciate it if you could give it a like, we won't spam you, just provide you with an occasional nice picture of development. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Minerva-Union/720938061257140 For those of you who don't use Facebook (we won't judge you honest) we'll be using other services in the future.
Only thing I could say would to be revise that character design for the woman.

my uv's are creeping me out
This is probably just a shit post, but I just wanted to say out of all the communities I've seen and been a part of you guys really warmed my heart haha. Such a friendly and honest group of people, you guys are awesome . I don't have much to show in terms of modelling but I'm more or less getting started on the process. Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated.
I decided to give helper bones a shot. They're a pain in the ass when you first try them, but some of them are actually pretty useful. For the first time, I have shoulders that don't look like an explosion of vertices when played in certain animations. I can finally stop being ignorant and blaming the animations! Now to fix her broken hands and her flimsy noodle arms. Sorry about all the Miku pictures. I'm no weaboo, nor am I obsessed with Vocaloids. This has become the model I experiment on and try all kinds of new things. I've learned so much from working on this model alone. On a side note, back to helper bones: I'd love to write some basic documentation on Facepunch to explain what each one does and why it's used, though I still don't know what some of them do. If I made a thread and got things started, would anybody be willing to pitch in and help with some of the explanations for the helper bones?
Theres some good shit on helper bones in this post http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=32102287&postcount=11
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/s6h10f.jpg[/t]
Looks really nice, but the crack in this one looks a little unrealistic - I wouldn't have thought the splinter would transfer so neatly into the neighbouring tile. I really need to start using zBrush to make decent textures though, I'm sick of photo-sourcing.
Only thing I could say would to be revise that character design for the woman.
Providing your opinion as to why would be nice, because what you can see is quite literally about 10% of what we have planned.
what is the easiest (literally) modelling software to learn to use?
what is the easiest (literally) modelling software to learn to use?
Out of the proper modelling programs, I'd say they're probably fairly equal, Blender maybe having a slight edge. Stuff like Sketchup is easier but also pretty useless.
So, here's my collection of models so far. Most of them are me just messing about, seeing what I can make. WIP, haven't touched the sight yet, no gloss.
Meekal just taught me how to get my Blender models into Garry's Mod My Facepunch shield shall protect me from anything!
Wish people would help teach me.
what is the easiest (literally) modelling software to learn to use?
3DS Max' interface I think is more easier to learn than Blender's, but it's really more or less just testing both them out yourself and seeing what works best for you.
snip
Now texture it :v:
[T]http://puu.sh/5Sqaj.jpg[/T] stuff
[T]http://puu.sh/5Sqaj.jpg[/T] stuff
Might wanna check the edges b4 u wreck ur edges. Seriously though maybe make the grip separate from the rest of the handle since it's not actually that sharp, might cut my poor hands using it. Your edges are smidge too sharp overall as well. Other than that I can't think what to say. Anyway: Onto my stuph, basically remodeled my Tron Bike, was a really nice challenge (I recommend you try it out, shit's hard as fuck (and all the concept art contradicts itself)) but it's a neat way to test yourself. Still a few things to change on it, however.
Now texture it :v:
Yeah I plan on it once I get better at texturing. I go to Full Sail and that was actually my final assignment for Model Creation class.
Started remaking the biocell piece I have in my portfolio(screenshots), but properly (as in not rushed in 24 hours straight).

who else besides azgag works with maya? I have a problem/question regarding lattices Also, there's the lattice I'm talking about I was just wondering how I would do the lowpoly/ uvmap this lattice part
I know how much is wrong with it but I'm happy to see the render getting somewhere.
