that's a mighty friendly lookin shark
gun nibble your toes
some high poly fun (still not done)
What's that automated thing?
What's that automated thing?
basically takes all the edge loops transformations that are in a mesh's history and centers it to the face. I find it faster to just add several edge loops then center them all at once, then I just clean up the ones that aren't necessary.
Very useful!
I made a flashlight. Baked some normals so far. I think I could have added some more geo or beveling for sharp angles though, since there are some wavyness, but not much. I'm still an organic modeler, so I find these very challenging to do. :D [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/2R0iHPp.jpg[/img_thumb] EDIT: 1278 polygons/tris. This is going to be seen from a third person view, so...
Still gotta work on the string a bit. Inspired by Rust.
I just don't see how that rock will stay there
You need more ropes lol

Not sure if it was meant to look like that, but the way it's really shiny and clingy, it looks like someone tried to go swimming in it.
Not sure if it was meant to look like that, but the way it's really shiny and clingy, it looks like someone tried to go swimming in it.
or all that wonderful man sweat.
building the low poly on my biocell remake, https://plus.google.com/hangouts/_/7ecpisjisbepu8dsjk1fssacho?hl=en
I just don't see how that rock will stay there
Haha thanks for the feedback. I was thinking, perhaps I should wrap a single rope around the base and the rock and also make a small branch on the handle to hold the rope [editline]25th January 2014[/editline]
You need more ropes lol
XD
I'm calling it done. I deleted the cap from the front, just to show that I modeled the the interior and lamp as well, even though it wasn't seen in the last WIP state. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/S7w3GdC.jpg[/img_thumb]

having finished the Elder Thing, i started on something else going with the spiky wall design because it looks more grimdark and i'm trying to save on polygons wherever i can
I still get this itch that something isn't right.
well your rope is kinda floating there :V
well your rope is kinda floating there :V
I think it happened when I decimated the rope, as it was quite smooth before that.
I think it happened when I decimated the rope, as it was quite smooth before that.
just have the rope in a normal map for your stone.
Hey guys! So I'm into this whole 3D modelling thing and I've been meaning to pick it up for a while but haven't got round to it due to my studies eating up all my free time, but luckily I've got a few free days and I'd like to fill them by attempting to make some models but I'm not sure what program would be best for somebody with very little experience such as myself. (I've played around on Sketchup a bit but that probably doesn't count) Any suggestions/recommendations would be great! :words:
actually sketchup is pretty good for level design, some people actually use it for that anyways take your pick: autodesk maya autodesk 3ds max Blender both autodesk programs have much more support than Blender but (Blender) can produce the same results Blender is completely free and student versions (non commercial) for Autodesk products are available also, Blender includes a built in game engine that uses python :3
10 min. doodle. So yeah, if anyone wants to recreate the protest in Kiev, Ukraine; Here you go. Still just the HP with a random Toolbag 2 material. Gonna bake and texture it later today. (After the handle thing is made of course.) Edit:// Quick update.
