Leprosy doesn't make limbs fall off. Secondary infections do.

yeah, going for a tf2-ish style, with a blend of monkey island
I killed about 2 hours a few days ago going through and organizing all my pictures of old models. These aren't for a professional portfolio or anything, just for my personal desire to archive things - hence why I typed all over my old renders to give them context and maybe some nostalgia in the future. Thought I'd post some of them. I know I've posted a few of these in these wip threads before back when I made them. This is probably a waste of space here, but maybe you'll get something out of seeing where I've come in 6 years (I've come astoundingly very little, considering modeling's more of a relaxing hobby for me and I've barely bothered to use tutorials for anything. I bet anybody who has taken a modeling course will see this progression of quality done in 2 months rather than 6 years)
My mango - first thing I ever modeled, I think back in 2008 or 2009.

Actually, my first model was in Milkshape about 2004 or 2005. It was a rectangular prism with two vertical cylinders on top. No textures, just grey. I called it a factory.
Your image links all don't seem to be working.

WIP of another gun I am working on.
I was hanging around here in another thread when some guy requested a Rally Fighter model, and just for shiggles I decided I'd try my hand at it since I had found good blueprints easily:

Anyone think I should go somewhere with this and take it into something with a smoothing engine or something? It's a lowpoly deal, 5K polys.
Cool stuff in here :) some character work I made a while back:

I know it's supposed to be dirty, but the texture feels too noisy, my eyes don't have anywhere to "rest." Also I think you need to have more specular and gloss map variation. It all looks like the same material. I think to alleviate this all you'd need to do is bump up the contrast in the gloss/specular in Photoshop, and maybe replace whatever layer you're using for the base texture if that's the majority of the noise, or just erase or tone down whatever decals you're using for the spottiness. I'm curious as to what render you're using?

you have quite a lot of pinching. be careful when adding control edge loops on curved surfaces.
Picked this thing up again after XNormal fixed my woes, it literally just spat out a working normal map in one go

Edge highlights should look less apocalyptic ingame
Probably going to stick it on the CSGO Ump to see what it looks like, too!
Wouldn't the 'this way' be too small to scrape legibly into metal?

looking nice, is this for a fps? if it is, you should go higher-poly, so your curves are well defined when the player zooms in.
I like the detail on the hand.
Sideburns + Baldig combo is a very 60's/70's look, and you are going for a TF2 style, so that fits well.
Reminds me of the guy on that MMORPG that was coming out, WildStar.

I'd need some good tutorials on how to create UV maps quicker than making it by hand.
Also some good tips about modeling for UDK.

If you texture them white with yellow accents and warning stripes + chrome exposed metal, I'll hug you.
