the only way i got warp was making a wire teleporter in side your ship and having it move around when i was in the chair i was using it to move round more faster sb_gooniverse alot faster plus it helped me kill some mingebags also :D

I agree that the legacy models are visually inferior, but here are my reasons from most to least important.
1. They are officially licensed. I view this the same way a card collector might prefer originals to Chinese counterfeits - regardless of any 'improvements' to the bootlegs.
2. Even though they are lower poly, they were modeled, textured, light mapped, bump mapped, & detail mapped by paid professionals with a large budget. Since I'm no expert on Star Trek canonry, nor do I want to sit around comparing meshs, Its reasonable to assume Legacy's models are probably better optimized than most user created meshs.
3. The above map types are all 100% supported by the source engine without any manipulation. (other than cramming them onto 1 giant texture to beat the 32 texture limit)
4. I'm too lazy to ask for permission, so If I have to steal someones hard work it may as well be the guys who got a paycheck out of it. I wouldnt want to be like this assclown =P.

If [i]need[/i] be, I have no problem using custom mesh's, but only after making damn sure a game studio didn't already do the work for me.
I'm also a fan of 'cheapness', if you will. The low poly/low texture 3D in older games appeals to me for 2 reasons.
1. Obviously, you can spawn many more of them before experiencing frame loss. This is critical with models in garrys mod since every player in your server could potentially spawn one.
2. When game engines had more restrictive polygon & texture limits, they were used much more efficiently because they HAD to. Looks vs cost, old games win hands down for this very reason.

agh i see but still the work you have done so far is really well done i would love to see more ships even if there is no bridges in them you could just make them up as you go along even try your own designs even try making your own starship or you could even try to make all the starships in parts so you would make your own ship out of all parts would be cool too

Actually, im 25% of the way through overhauling Enterprise-D with the higher quality content from Legacy. Also, I'm reskinning the interior with some lightmaps I found from bridge commander that I was previously too nub to impliment.
However, that project is paused at the moment because I found out how to port ships from Empire: Total War which are easy to port, and would make for good sea battles. Currently working on the HMS Victory.

Have you thought of contacting one of the authors of a Hi-Rez bridge pack at Bridge Commander files?
I've implimented some of those files for personal use, it's a good improvement worth looking into.

Holy crap I didnt know that. What amazes me more is that this is essentially a 1701-B bridge, so I could make that ship too. As for the excelsior, I'd use a ST: legacy model =D. Has modern fx maps.

While federation ships are amazing, we definitely need some klingon or romulan ships to fight them against.
ALSO, I cannot figure out for the life of me how to make a reliable wire facer turret with a pod controller/cam controller. (basically, a remote turret controllable from one of the ensign chairs, positioned under, or over the saucer) ideally, it should be scripted for badwidths sake, not overly mechanical
i'm not to sure about wiremod i find it a wee bit hard but i'm sure in elite force 2 there's a romulan ship maybe a klingon one too i'll be playing it again in five mins if i find more ships i'll post it here

ps. i ripped the millenium falcon from Jedi Knight 1 a while back (couldnt find a higher quality model of it). Its fairly detailed, but lacks fx maps. I dont like star wars much, but if I ever get around to working on it, I think it could serve as a good opponent (or just target practice) for federation starships. Does anyone know of a better millenium falcon model? An Interior is desperately needed because I'm not going to spend long modeling 1 from scratch, if thats what I have to do.

Yea the entire Enterprise-E bridge is accessible in deathmatch in EF2 along with the conferrence room. Its by far the most beautiful and detailed bridge in any st game to date imho.
