RAWR
help me :,(
i did evrything the same as in the tut, exept im using diffrent compilers/decompilers,but my knowlage asures me that does not make any difference.
Hint: If you're gonna stick the citizen head on another model, make sure the body is on the SAME SKELETON FIRST; it'll fuck up otherwise. There's ways around this but almost all of them remove faceposing.

Did you put in the right directory?
Did you put in the texture and vmt?
Did you edit the vmt to go with that directory?
Did you put the right directory in the QC file?

Help!
When I Open StudioCompiler after setting up my SDK it don't want to run. There is an error: Extra App ID set to 211, but no SteamAppId
How can I fix that?
*EDIT*
I fixed that)
Bump.
Also, a tutorial for XSI MOD 6 would be nice.
I cant open SMDs in ANY 3D application, not Max or Blender...
you need an smd importer/exporter

Found out 5 mins after comment
Now if someone would just make a decompiler that worked all the time for everyone, this would be great.
All pictures are too big.
I can't even look at all of them.
WhAT THE? Studio compiler- ERROR: TOO MANY INDICES AT SOURCE: D:\****\****\mymodel.smd
I can't open the compiler!
I get the Error "unable to load model" at like 95% of my models some actually work but i need help :/
Edit: Fixed
It's just my compiler, when it's compiling it just crashes, any fixes? Tried all of Kathars.
I have a question - Which folder means that $cdmaterials?
the garrysmod folders with the used Models? or the Folder with the compiled ones
[QUOTE=foxz0rd;27563190]I have a question - Which folder means that $cdmaterials?

It's where the model looks for it's textures after it's compiled.
So If you put your model's textures in "Materials/models/police"
$cdmaterials will be "models/police"
Im having a problem with 3d 7 max. I downloaded the smd importer and but both of the files in the plugins folder of 3d. And when I open 3d max and select importer it gives me a list of file types but no SMD option. What do I have to do?
*Fixed that problem.*
But now every time I try and compile my model it give me that ERROR: Bad Command thing
*Fixed*
On to the next problem. Every time I try and compile the model it says ERROR: Can't recognize model option $ poseblahblahblah. When I get rid of this line in QC it gets the error with the next line that was past $poseblahablahaha which is $cdmaterials. I know thats very confusing. Sum of my problem is that it doesn't recognize the commands in QC after the $model name.
Every single time I try to compile mdldecompiler.qc it tell me that it can't open the ".obj" file.
Can anyone help?
Nice job! Thanks a lot!!

Only the newest version of the compiler can work with OBJ files and that's still unrigged. You want to preferably use SMDs not OBJs
Alright, so, I've got a question that I couldn't figure out. I have a Battery soldier model, meant to replace ct_urban, so is rigged to the Valve Skeleton. I've deleted the head, which is pretty straightforward, and then I've imported male_05 reference.smd or whatnot. The only problem is that unlike in the example in OP, male_05 spawns inside of the soldier, with his head protruding from the soldier's chest (I'm assuming that this is because it's a replacement model for CSS, not the CSS model itself). So, I have a few questions
1. How do I shift the position of the body so that the head is properly positioned? I heard that simply moving the head breaks the faceposing.
2. How do I delete the bones in male_05's body (i.e. the ones not in his head/neck)? When I delete the body, I am left with male_05's skeleton sticking out of the soldier, with no real way to delete the bones. Is there a way to do it quickly and easily?
3. How do I then link the head bones for Male_05 to that of the soldier?
I'm sorry, I'm a little new at it, but this wasn't covered, apart from "Delete the body."
I don't think those battery models are rigged to valve bones.
No, the one I'm using has been rigged to Valve bones, and it's designed as a replacement for ct_urban. I asked the creator if I could create my own headhack with it.
Sorry for Bump but I CANNOT fix this problem, I always get this error when I try to compile!

in the QC
I'll have a shot at this. Haven't had much luck in the past- but as a new version of the studiocompiler has been released.. Maybe? :allears:
EDIT: Shit went bad. :smith: The compiler crashes as I press the extract button.
