Awesome stuff man. I wasn't expecting the Peace Walker models, that was a huge surprise :D how would Big Boss look without the bandana btw? Does he have skin underneath it? I was thinking it'd work if you removed the bandana and gave him gray-ish hair though I'd still say Solidus mirrored works fine as old Big Boss :P

I thought MGS4 was awesome to be honest. That game was the reason I got a PS3 in the first place, and is probably one of my most played games on the console. Absolutely loved that game. Even the hour-long cutscenes, in my opinion, were all worth it. I even watched the last one two or three times. But that's just my opinion.
Anyway, aside from that, looks damn good in my opinion. Also, quick question, why do the Peace Walker models have such...slick and shiny skin, for lack of a better term? Looks unusual. I do notice the transparencies in the hair that still need to be worked out.
Overall though, I'd say they look amazing. I'm very excited to see the final product.
Oh, and is it possible for you to get Paz and Kaz Miller from Peace Walker as well?

lol, im the kind of person who for some reason don`t like mgs4... i got the ps3 for that reason, thanks to the uncharted series, little big planet and god of war i won't regret having to buy one, but that's not the point here
the shiny skin i put the materials like that in order to reflect broken or garbage polys believe me it took me 3 days clean snake's face and break the model by materials and fix the mess, Amanda an ceci where easier for some reason, and the pics from post #207 are 1.5 weeks old... newer are better might post something later today.
about paz and miller, well I don't like pacifica ocean (lol) and miller is a fag... no jokes aside i can't rip this guys textures yet, paz has to many polys on her head and is a mess i kind of want to do something else before working on her, and kaz... i can get his face, hair textures...
but i have the peace walker stromtrooper and maybe zeke and the flying robot
Hi, I am maybe wrong but its look like Snake's MGS4 version do not have good head proportions. Maybe a little too big compare to the body.

i coudn't finish the mgs pack for the following reasons
remeber a few weeks ago my computer died... well i made a back up and most of the stuff was like 70% complete... i have to fix a couple of uv's and stuff, but then i got a series of family matters that got my full attention even to this days... so I apologize to anyone who felt the urge to play with meryl's polygonal panties... I cant fix the pack at this time...
next week I'll be relaxing about my "family loss" problem and I might get back to work on that weekend...

well all soldiers where ripped except the ones that ambush you before the fight with raven on the elevator, but they're the same thing as the nuke guards just black... but the heavy snow german-like troopers are on the pack so rest easy

well rex is on mgs1, and ray have a obligatory multiple appearances on the MGS2 pack... so...
for peace walker... I'll releace snake and amanda and the crhysalis (when i got the hover ufo device textures) ... but i'll upscale the textures first... who knows.....

anyway, I'm a professional animator and have a long time been working on a side project called The Big Boss Chronicles.
I'm currently modelling my own stylized Big Boss but I'm not much of a modeller and even less of a texture artist.
But looking at your ripped Peace Walker Big Boss (my favourite Big Boss) models in Jungle Fatigues give me renewed vigor to work on this project and possibly quicken the process.
I was wondering what sort of format you would be releasing said model in? Will I be able to work on it in Maya? Would you be ripping and/or exporting environmental models in the future?
Now I understand you have some family matters to attend to. So please take your time in responding with my questions. Thank you. :)
I believe that when he does release them, they'll probably be in Gmod's relative format, whatever that may be. Not sure if it has an exact term other than "Rigged for Gmod", heh heh.
I personally don't know about anything else though.

No, I don't think our patriot will release those models in Gmod's rigged. I have read on this thread he does not know Gmod. Honestly I prefer it this way. With this character pack every one will be able to do anything. Even more if the character are released in common file format.
Oh really? I must have misread or misinterpreted then...or just forgotten. My mistake, anyway.
Hopefully whatever format it is, it'll be capable of both Gmod rigging, and for NightShadow's use.

yeah, i wanted to rip them since i saw the e32009 trailer... I have most od the textures and the geometry, still i need to do some stuff. now i think the psp emu goes in-game so i can rip the metal gears textures, the millers face, paz, galvez, some soldiers but i got lazy... too lazy for that
for the mgs1 model pack they'll be released THIS month and they'll be in .OBJ .3DS formats, most 3d applications can import them, but i recommend converting them using right hemisphere deep exploration to your format of choice since you will no longer need to assign paths and stuff

on the psp ripping there's nothing random, it is pretty hard to get the textures and uv's to match for example that big boss took me 1 week to complete it, amanda tookme just 4 days and cecile is still incomplete, the hind i hope it maybe easy but all psp porting take to much time... time that I will rather use to complete the mgs1 pack next week!
