Soul Calibur IV Packa - Developers

Okay, here's my list for characters I wish to see ported: Viola [IMG]http://www.game-art-hq.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Soul-Calibur-V-Viola-CGI-Render-SCV.jpg[/IMG] Ezio (His SCV model is much higher quality then the one ported directly from AC:B, and is the only one where he has two of the assassin gauntlets on instead of just one, like in the official art.) [IMG]http://www.game-art-hq.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Soul-Calibur-V-Ezio-Auditore-CGI-Render-SCV.jpg[/IMG] Dampierre. How can this fiendishly hilarious smooth motherfucker NOT be ported? I mean look at that mustache! If I remember correctly, there's a couple weapon packs someone made a few years ago that has the Requiem sword from Soul Calibur 4 in it. I don't know if they are still up though, and my internet's not exactly stable enough to go check at this time. They might be up on garrysmod.org though, so it's worth taking a look.

I've been using those packs since they came out and I never saw Requiem in there.

That's odd...I remember seeing the sword in at least one of those packs. Ah well, not too big of a problem. I'll see if I can grab the link to the resource page I found that has all of the models for SC4 later on when my internet is a bit more stable. The models aren't compiled though, so that'll have to be done on your own time.

I know Urbanator has 'em, as well as that "Gagem" guy. So there's no need to ask Roland to port those ones, we just need to ask Urbanator if he'd be willing to convince whoever supplied the models to release them. Unfortunatly I don't have the model anymore, I lost her a long time ago. If Roland was to do any other Soul Calibur models, it'd be worth him doing his own version anyway imo. With the various skills he's developed with model porting, it'd most likely be worth it.

I was told that these were custom jobs that he paid for and the porter specifically asked him not to share the models. I wouldn't have put them on the list if it was a simple case of asking around. Roland has done an amazing job on the other models anyway, I'm sure there's a lot of people who would appreciate these models that can be shared with the whole community rather than chasing after people who might need even have them or be interested in sharing them.

It has a download for all of the stages, characters, and weapons from Soul Calibur 4 (kind of like the links in E3245's post), so it's at least a start if Roland chooses to work on the rest of them. I'm honestly more interested in the fact that there's a few Soul Calibur 5 models included in this release, I haven't seen any of those models actually available for download on the sites I've searched through.

Ryu-gi, or Joyful Mystery, or whatever you're calling yourself these days, you should probably just learn how to port your own models if you want them so bad. It isn't easy but you've been whining on these forums for them for so long that you could have learned how to port three times over by now. You already voted twice for Viola, I wonder how many more of those screen names are yours? Quit trying to hijack this thread with your fixed voting scam. Roland finally released a project that he had been working over a year on, give the guy a break. He'll get back to it when he's good and ready.

I think it's been established via the voting that Dampierre is top dog right now. But yeah, Roland deserves a break. In the meantime though, we've established which models people seem to want.

Out of curiosity, I'm wondering about the request I made earlier about Ivy's Hair. The original model of Ivy he ported from SCIV has hair that always looks jagged despite having anti-aliasing on. The new one he ported from SCV has that problem fixed. Roland said that both Ivys share the same hair model. Would it be possible to fix the SCIV model's hair simply by copying the texture information from the SCV over to it?

am i gonna be the only one to ask if ivy's soul calibur 4 costume is gonna show up??? under cleavage and all?

It was part of the original set of characters ported by Roland. You're a real piece of work. Anyone else could have made that vote and I wouldn't have cared but you... well, we both know how you operate.

Viola's still currently 2nd in place even without my intervention, that's what I meant. Even if I hadn't jump-started the Viola votes she's still right behind Dempierre.
