Gunny you're a great poster, never stop.

I mean that unironically by the way
The Vietnam gear is actually M1956 or M1961 gear. It's almost the same as ALICE but some of the pouches, belt buckle, suspenders, etc are different. Here is a good vietnam gear resource-

Plus ERDL is pretty damn expensive, around $300 for the blouse and trousers.
Sorry for going off topic, but just thought I should add that because he asked haha.
Yeah that's a shame - If I wanted to be a cheapass tho, I could just take some M81s and put green-ass dye on them or something

bookmarking that site gunny i love you
Here's a picture of an ALICE gear setup, should be a good base-
http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/uploads//monthly_04_2010/post-8022-1271092684.jpg It'd be smart to replace the Etool with another canteen as troops would attach the etool to their ALICE pack to save room on their belt for more pouches and such. You should just make the ALICE a body group, as some people will probably still want the regular gear.
I mean reskinning the pouches to be a little more realistic
Haha if you guys want to add me on steam my username is Yupo983. If you do ever get around to it, could you please make your models with ALICE gear haha? I would also LOVE to have these in this camouflage pattern -

You'd be able to make some great gulf war poses, something I've always wanted to do but could never find the correct models to do it. I'm pretty good with gear up from about 1965-1995 or so, I'm not good with gear our ground pounders use now a days, but I'm beginning to learn. I play airsoft and alot of guys teach me stuff, so back to the topic - ALICE gear would be great for these models, I mean what you have on them is nice, but it wasn't seen to often. Here's what Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm uniforms looked like -
http://www.heritagestudio.com/stormlarge.html
That pictures shows what Marines looked like before combat operations, the woman on the far left, and during, the man on the far right. It also has an officer, man in NBC gear, pilot, and Marine in Night Camouflage. The bag on the Marines hip's carry their M17 gas mask. The picture also has a good picture of their ALICE gear. During the war, most of the troops stuff had a desert cover on it, helmet, flak jacket, ALICE pack, etc. If you have some time, I beg you to make bodygroups with 6 color desert camouflage and ALICE gear.
Desert camo or Digital camo would be great.

1st of all what the models are wearing is ALICE gear i also have a lot of military knowledge.
And no, no digital camo. That wouldn`t be realistic.

They're not wearing ALICE gear, they're wearing MOLLE, which were only introduced in 1997.

I already reskinned it, its not MOLLE anymore.

You can't just reskin one into another, they're very different shaped.
It's time to make spetsnaz already :)
They are looking awesome!
I wonder why doesn't anyone just port the cutscene characters from WiC? They looked pretty good and I'm pretty sure there are some modding tools for the game.
Digital camo would be great.
As far as I know Digital camo DOESN'T work. It just happens to look cool which is why it's in video games.
(Please correct me if I'm wrong.)

Are you saying it doesn't work as in it's a bad camo or that it is hard to texture? Digital camo works, but it is a close range camo. You see, small patterns like digital work well at close range, the small blocks break up your outline, yet at long range, it blobs together, making you easier to see. This is why the US wears/wore it in Iraq, lots of close range combat. Big patterns, like woodland, are the opposite, they work well at long range, but not so great at short.

Thank you so much for correcting me without insulting me for my ignorance. (And I meant that it's bad camo when I said that before)
Digital Camouflage was introduced in 2000 for US Marines, correct me if I'm wrong but it's somewhere around there. 2005 for the US Army's ACU. Upon closer inspection of your models they look like ALICE gear but it still needs to be fixed a little. And is that a buttpack on the second belt on his left side? I've never seen that before. Your magazine pouches look a bit like velcro closure, plus you need to add the grenade loops on the side.

Camp Lejeune got theirs in 2003 If i remember correctly.
Camp Lejeune got theirs in 2003 If i remember correctly.
Yeah as I said earlier, I'm not too great with newer stuff. About 1995 then that's it. I do think MARPAT was designed in somewhere around 2001, but in the 2003 invasion, most troops were still wearing 3 color. I own a pair of MARPAT and I ordered some USMC boots. (I play airsoft, it's like paintball). It effective close up, but it blobs after a while. I usually use my vietnam OG107's when I play, it works pretty good.
EDIT - When will you be releasing your updated models?
I wonder why doesn't anyone just port the cutscene characters from WiC? They looked pretty good and I'm pretty sure there are some modding tools for the game.
I've been saying this for literally a year, but apparently nobody who does ragdolls gives enough of a shit.
The cinematic models alone are more worthwhile than ANY of the hacks, ports, or custom models we're told are 'Russian soldiers' or 'Cold War Americans'. I've yet to see a single ragdoll which actually resembles Soviet or Russian troops even in the slightest.
Yep. All the "Russian" models arent even wearing the right equipment, or helmets, or any of that stuff.
WIC soviets look much better than all the CoD models.

Plus with a nuke going over D.C you have radiation, nuclear fallout, and other effects like that. Just my .25 cents.

Exact-a-mungo.
(dunno what that means, but just, exactly)
Thank you so much for correcting me without insulting me for my ignorance. (And I meant that it's bad camo when I said that before)
Not a problem, most people think it doesn't work very well because of the terrible that is ACU. It is a good urban camouflage, but they use it in Afghanistan, not a very good place for monochromatic patterns, also a very long range is not good for digital patterns. .
Let me yell at Bloo to get WiC and port EVERYTHINGG
or someone should get ilwrath

I don't even think it'd be too effective in urban operations, the army has some of the ugliest uniforms, boots, etc. I love how the Marines got the best uniforms and stuff like that, hell they even fight better using equipment not as good as the Army, hell in the Gulf War, the Marines were still using the Prick 77 (PRC-77) Radio, which pretty much sucked while the army was using sattelite radios. I don't mean to diss on the US Army, but they are better in national defense than overseas operations. The Marines are our backbone and fists of the United States Armed Forces. We need to create a camouflage pattern that works well in close and long range, if we ever go to war with North Korea, which may happen in the next 5 or so years, it will be more open, there will be very few urban engagements, until we get to the cities ofcourse, but if we ever do go to war with NK I'm very confident the United States would win, we need to get rid of the damn communist NK and make it a democratic Korea. Zupadupa if you could, would you please post your updated models? I want to "review" them. I can be your gear advisor if you'd like, I also friended you on steam.

i am "gear advisor" too
except for more modern jazz

Gunny - the army's already selecting 3 new camouflage patterns - Woodland, transitional, and desert
Transitional would be like Multicam, and I bet you can't guess what the other 2 would be for.

When I get a chance to, I'll look over some reference pictures with gear and whatnot, see if I can be more accurate. Version 3's gonna be a whopper. I might look around and see if I can get the proper gear and uniforms for Russians, too.

ACU is a terrible urban camouflage. It works in what it was designed(not marketed) for, the Afghan Mountains, and that's about it.
