Ontopic. Multicam and Marpat works best in the homeland and overseas overall. Who cares if one camouflage is better than the other as long as you blend in with the environment and not so easily detected by the enemies. Besides, ACUs really do suck as a good camouflauge. Yes, you'll might blend in with the gray mountains in Irag and Afghanistan, But what if a major war were declared that took place in the dense jungle? Dress up in ACUs and see how well you'll blend in then. You'll be a perfect target for a sniper.

I seem to recall otherwise, though not to the extent of the Hindu Kush. Either way, UCP is shit, it should never have been adopted as a universal camouflage, even if it had only been adopted for mountain environments and urban areas its adoption would be questionable at best. Multicam is leaps and bounds better but loses out on account of trying to work everywhere - it's moderately effective everywhere, but truly excels nowhere in particular. Woodland MARPAT is excellent in lusher, temperate regions, but falls apart in more arid (not desert) regions.
tl;dr UCP is rubbish, the other two are good but both in totally different classes.

UCP isn't all that bad I think. It just stands out when it's brand new, with it's bright white/blue-ish colors. Almost all camouflage clothing do.

UCP is alright for mountains and some urban areas, and the night, but other than that, it's shit. It's plain butt ugly. It's a decent garrison camouflage but not practical to use in MOST combat enviorments. I do believe Multicam is effective but I would rather wear MARPAT, but that's just me. If I was a deploying unit to Iraq before we left there, I'd go against regulation and take a couple pairs of 3 color with me.
